Does what it says on the tin
Excellent product and really easy to use and apply. It finishes in a grey cement like colour and it float really well. Had a problem with my mixer and didn't have time to get another; on the tub it says it's impossible to mix by hand... not true at all. All you need to do is add a little plaster at a time to your bucket of water with one hand and keep stiring with the other until you get the right consistency. Plastered a fireplace inset and surround and have just under a quarter of a tub left. Fully dried in three days. If your not very confident at plastering use heat resistant plaster board instead but this stuff is excellent.

Perfect for around my woodburning stove
Went on really easily, just like render. Took ages to dry though so make it up a little drier than you would for plaster. Smooth finish if you trowel it properly. Painted afterwards.

Heat resistant plaster
Used for a patch repair above a wood burning stove, As with all plaster care must be taken with mixing and consistancy is key to ease of application and getting a good finish. Early days but no sign of cracking so very pleased. Good price best I could find for this product

Use it
Firstly after reading and reading on heat proof plaster, the available information is void. You have 2 types of this everbuild plaster, this is a 12.5kg in a tub and a 25kg bag. Mixes just like normal plaster, applied like normal plaster. Takes ages to dry, so costly to apply, we had to let the plasterer go and I scraped it down in the morning, we had some intricate details. Will need to be sanded by the painters. But would definitely recommend when it’s needed. Remember you only need the screed if you have bricks, not on plasterboard. Would suggest using it...

Nothing like a plaster finish.
Plasterer of 25 years and this product is terable to use. Unable to obtain a smooth like normal gypsum finish. More like a sand a cement sponges off render

Hung around for hours
Mixed well enough, but the instructions state you have 20 mins to apply it and it can be trowelled after an hour...... either the batch I had was bad, or this is completely wrong. I could not even look at it with a trowel for 5 hours!!!!! It just hung for hours and hours and when it finally started to pick up, it went at different rates in different places...... very very difficult to have the patience. What should have been an hours job took a full day. Would not recommend but it has worked eventually and so far hasn't cracked.

ideal
took a while to find a plasterer who was willing to work with this but the man who did said it wasn't that different to use in actual fact.

value for money
I used the plaster to fill in a hole near my wood burning stove. Only used half so passed the rest on to the chimney sweep who also fits log burners and is going to use it instead of plaster board. Very pleased and has worked for me.
