Loads to do in this cool set from the Disney Jr show
This LEGO set based on Disney Jr's Spidey and his Amazing Friends animated series has a Spider-man, Ghost Spider and female Doc Ock character included, along with a cool Spiderman car, a Doc Ock robot vehicle and a Doc Ock base which can hold the captured Trace-E robot spider captive in a clear cell. There's a lot to do in this set, from car chases to a web to swing around on and the playset with cell, it's a good set to fuel the imagination. The build was fairly easy with just the base proving slightly more tricky if you have younger builders present, so you may need to be there to help out with those parts. Otherwise, the usual clear LEGO instructions make it straight forward to build. My favourite part of this set is actually the little claw machine which can pick up the vials of liquid you get in the set but can also hold the characters captive as well. It has a joint in the middle and can swivel, so it's quite flexible. Some lighting in the base would have been great but would have pushed the price right up, too, so I can understand it not being there. I'm tempted to use some of the lights from other LEGO set to light up the containment cell and computer, though.Overall, a fantastic set for young fans of the show or of Spider-man and his friends.

Great Spiderman set with 3 mini figures
If you can run to the £25+ price tag this is a great set for a Spiderman fan. It is suitable for 4 years + and I'd say most 4 or 5 years old could put it together with maybe some adult help here and there and that 6 and 7 year olds could do it independently. It hits that Infant school sweet spot for Lego. It comes with the usual booklet of instructions through diagrams/drawings of the stages for the build. The set has 3 great mini figures - Spidey himself, Dr Ock and a Ghost spiderman. You also get Spiderman's car and Dr Ock's insectoid like vehicle which has jointed legs that you can move. It also has a spider net wth a line and button on the end so you can attach mini figures or objects you have "caught". There is also a lab station with a fluid tank and a robotic arm which is jointed and has pinchers to "catch" things with. There some other little pieces and several energy canisters to fling about. As with most Lego there is a lot of fun in building it. The car is robust and works well but the robot arm tends to come away from the base plate if you lift anything heavy with it (like the car) and the Dr Ock vehicle also tends to come away when you try to lift the legs - but we always have these issues with Lego sets once you start to "play" with them. The box is sealed with a finger perforation hole to open so you know the box has not been tampered with or contents stolen.
