HP Touchpad
What can a say! this is an amazing product, I absolutely love it. The apps are fantastic and something for everyone. I don't want play games or take pictures with my touchpad, I do want the Skype ability and it has that and the quality of video is excellent. There is a language translator application that will post directly to email, another that calculates a restaurant bill and splits it by the number in the party. There are video apps, games, education the list is endless. This fits comfortably into my day bag that I use for work. Some open wireless access is a bit fiddly to get onto such as open wifi in the library or the local pub but no different than to the ipad. Our library has special instructions to get ipad on and this is the same for touchpad. It will also tether to your mobile if you have an android phone.I don't understand why HP stopped producing this product but I hope they continue with the apps and the support.

Not a bad piece of kit if you want something to watch film, surf the net and check e-mails.
Having bought mine at a knocked down price, I have to say it's not a bad product. For the best results install android (look on line). The best feature are the speakers. I have bought several iPads and the speakers are awful when compared to the touchpad. My main problem is the battery. It's average.

Disappointing Tablet
This is not as good as it sounds. There is not as much freedom to change between one app and another as the blurb would have you think, as they tend to freeze or lag, and the number of apps available for this is severely limited. The touch screen works well, but there is only a front facing camera so it is really only good for video calls and not for taking photos.

If you're still considering it... don't.
It will never get any updates. It lags a lot and is bare of functionality and applications in its App Catalog... Old stuff.

Not up there to my expectations
I ordered this product because I thought it was a good brand. I've had a HP laptop for a year and it has worked properly so far, so I thought Hp seems to be a good brand. After going through a lot of pages on Amazon and other online shops and comparing prices and features I decided to go for this one. I was happy for the price and everything was okay. The product arrived on time, actually sooner than expected and then I started testing it. I set it up, which was very easy and started using it. It was easy to use, using the touch screen was comfortable and I left it to charge a bit more and continue using in the evening. The same day I turned it on again at night and I started to use you tube. I download a video and suddenly ,it froze. I couldn't go back to home menu, I couldn't reboot it, I couldnt even turn it off. It was dead. All I saw was the stuck video. So I just left it and next morning I tried again but not luck , still on and frozen screen. in the afternoon Finally after the battery ran out I finally managed to turn it on with the charger. It works again. I read other reviews and it seems the same thing happens over and over again with this type of tablets I also learnt that HP discontinued this product. so I understand why , not reliable. I decided to return it for a refund and Amazon was very helpful and I got my money back in the end. Good service from amazon though. Do not buy it!

So Glad I got this
I finally decided I needed a better tablet after struggling along with a very cheap, but ultimately flawed Advent Vega for 18 months.I didn't have the funds for a top end Tablet, but one thing the Vega had given me, was a great understanding of how to flash various flavours of Android onto a tablet and how best to tweak things. With this in mind, I decided on the HP Touchpad...What a great choice.. it took about 30 mins to add Android 4.0 to the Tablet (it dual boots, so you don't lose the original OS).The difference between this and a cheap Tablet can't be emphasised enough, apps simply fly and the overall quality is top notch. Add to this, a fantastic screen and speakers good enough to actually make listening to music an enjoyable experience and I could not be happier. My only regret is not getting a couple when they where originally discontinued by HP..If you can get one at a good price then do.!!

very happy
I'm very happy with my purchase. The touchpad supports java and flash, so I can visit all the sites I normally go to, the battery life is great, and the multi-tasking is very smooth and interfaces very well. I'm able to read sheet music while I have the track playing in the background. -I downloaded the need for speed game and I was totally blown away by how beautiful and smooth the graphics were.

Disappointing
Did not meet requirements, difficult to set up with WiFi. Altogether very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend unless you like gto spend hours trying to set up.
