1st use worked well
The oil filter drain plug and release worked fantastic, it makes the oil change so much easier and cleaner. I used a 36mm socket on the oil filter removal socket tool since some reviews show it split in half. I was very pleased with the snug fitment on the oil filter.

Works on my Toyota Highlander
2015 Highlander. Must have if you change your own oil. Product seems slightly lightweight but it does the job fine. The oil filter housing is plastic so it gets the job done.

Essential tool
This was my first experience at changing the cartridge in an oil filter on a newer model Toyota vehicle. I was planning to use my metal band style oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter housing. Thank goodness I purchased this oil filter cap removal tool. My old wrench would not work, since these newer filter housings are very tightly installed and the cap removal tool fits the ridges of the oil housing perfectly. Also due to the location of the filter housing, a old style wrench would not be able to effectively access the filter. This is an invaluable investment for the price. Highly recommended.

Annoys me that my car requires this special tool, but the tool itself works fine.

Unsure on this product
I bought this to use on a 2013 corolla.Quality of metal appears to be cast aluminum. If does fit the filter cover tightly, but on the 2013 corolla the bottom flange is too thick and contacts the engine block preventing it from going onto the filter. I remedied this by cutting the flange from the bottom of the tool leaving only the hex part which worked for me.I'm sure on other toyotas this is probably not necessary but for the 2013 corolla it doesn't fit out the box.

Seems durable even though it’s cast Aluminum
3/8 slot held up to a 3/8-1/2” adapter attached to a 6” 1/2” extension on a 1/2” 2 foot breaker bar. Did 3 Toyotas today at the lube shop and so far it performed as it should
