Bought as gift for my teenage son who is taking up trout fly fishing. The initial rod we received was damaged. The top section ferrule broke as he tried to do his first cast. But a speedy response with a replacement rod made for a happy fisherman. Would have given 5 stars but I was disappointed that my gift was faulty first time out of the box.On the plus side my son is now posted missing as he is away fishing at every chance with a great big smile.

I already own one of these and was pleased to see a reduction in price however it is noticeably different in every way it is a chinese copy. apart from that my son is catching fish on it.

For the price, this is really good kit. A definite for the beginner or as a travel piece of kit. My only issue was with the loop on the line which I had to replace. I would have given 5 stars if this had been better or had not been done at all. Really decent set and highly recommended...

The Reel seat is NOT as described or pictured. (one reason i purchased) = Instead it is cheapo black plastic, A shame as the rod looked really nice, good carry case too. not a good ambassador for Abu :(Returned sadly.

Nicely Balanced Rod and reel combo, Great for beginner or as a travel rod.

It's a lovely little rod & serious performance for the money! The action is good from butt to tip & first day out handled a 3 1/2 lb trout with ease! I'd seriously buy another if the deal came up again & it would make a great present for both the novice & experienced fisher!

This is a great rod and reel deal. I am new to fly fishing and as I only use Abu rods I got this as a starter kit. It came really quick and it was ready to fish right out the box. I have used it 3 times and I got my 1st 3lb rainbow trout on it. Well over the moon.

This rod snapped on second outing. Terrible brittle built
