My daughter and I got it to split besides being a bit smaller than we thought it has worked out really well. Between the freezer space we both have in our refrigerator this freezer has worked out really well.

If you get the 7 cubic foot model just know that it opens from the top sitting tall and deep instead of short and wide.So you'll have to reach in from the 'top' to the bottom after stacking your items tall and deep.If that's okay to you then this is a great freezer... for me I wish I'd known... but with such a compact design I probably should have.
