Great product, perfect fit
I bought this to replace the stock eye cup on my Sony a1. This cuts out almost all light leaks while using the viewfinder. The ability to rotate the eye cup is perfect for doing vertical shots. Well built, soft silicone eye piece.

easy on the eye socket
These have greater depth and are larger while also making it easier to block out ambient light. When I bought a backup Z9 i bought another one of these as i like them that much. They are flexible and easily compress in a bag and bend right back to normal. I have had the first one for several years and the 2nd one for about six months. works great.

An Improvement
It works okay. I thought it was kind of stiff. It blocks significantly more light than the Nikon eyepiece but I was hoping it would block more. Plenty of light gets around it. The stiffness does stop my nose from bumping into the monitor. I kept it.

Excellent Replacement; Better Than the Original!!
I always wanted a contoured eyepiece for my Z9, but couldn't justify the cost for "just a piece of rubber to look through." How wrong I was! After losing the OEM eye cup while out on safari, I took the opportunity to upgrade once I got home. This new eye cup is INFINITELY better than the standard eye cup - for one thing it contours to the shape of your face, helping you quickly seat the camera and get a much better view with no light intrusion on the already-bright viewfinder. It's an extremely comfortable fit for extended photo sessions, and can be rotated for use with either eye.BONUS: the larger size of this eye cup keeps the camera away from my face and my nose no longer smudges the screen constantly. Nice!I give this eye cup a very strong recommendation, even if you haven't lost your OEM eye cover.

Nice addition.
I like to use the eyepiece because I always have and I'm too old to change. Anyway, I like this because I prevents stray light from entering my eyepiece so I can better view the display (I'm a outdoor photographer). It was a quality product that fit perfectly on the camera and the rubber was comfortable around my eye. I would recommend it.

Very nice eye cup.
Perfect replacement for original round eye cup. I gerry-rigged a cheap eye cup to work, but it eventually broke off, so by this time, this one was available.

If You Have a Nikon ZF - This is a must avoid.
I bought this eyecup for my new Nikon ZF. The eyecup that comes with the camera is fairly minimal, so I was hoping that this eyecup would solve this problem. It did! But it created a bigger problem. It is impossible to open the camera's monitor with this eyecup affixed to the camera. It makes normal use of the camera impossible, which is quite an accomplish for a mere eyecup.

Works but different from Hoodman
I've been using the Hoodman Eyecup for my last six cameras. I like the larger and deeper eyecup to prevent stray light and to reduce dust around the eye-sensor on mirrorless cameras. But two times in three months the Hoodman eyecup on my Z8 has fallen off while normally using the camera. The Hoodman Eyecup for the Z8/Z9 does not snugly lock into place well enough to prevent loss.I've just had this eyecup a few days, and it appears it will do the trick. The price is the same as the Hoodman eyecup, so this one does carry a premium price. It does lock into place better than the Hoodman eyecup. The silicon cup turns more easily, so rather than the entire assembly turning, just the silicon turns so it does not fall off. The silicon eyecup on this item is stiffer - less flexible than the Hoodman version. That may be a problem if you wear glasses since you can't press your eye closer to the EVF. So far the jury is out on whether it will work or not. It also does not fit quite as well in my camera bag because the eyecup can't be bent back to save space. The larger extension of the eyecup nicely wraps around your eye, but the opposite side extends a little too far to be comfortable and is not flexible enough to bend out of the way. The basics of the eyecup are similar to the Hoodman version. I do recommend an eyecup to users of all enthusiast and professional cameras to both reduce stray light and to prevent dust and debris from accumulating on the eye sensor.
