Wood Rain Barrel Stand - Made from Genuine Canadian Spruce. Water Barrel Stand, Rain Barrel Stand, Rain Water Collection Barrel Stand

This stand is not hardwood nor is it stained. Time will tell how well it holds up but description is wrong and misleading.

This rain barrel stand measures 18” x 18” which is adequate for most rain barrels. However, for it to provide 100% support it would need to be 20” x 20”. Before I assembled my stand I brushed on a coat of raw linseed oil (not boiled linseed oil) to all the wood surfaces to protect the wood from water. This will extend the life of your stand by many years and give the wood a beautiful stained appearance. The linseed oil was also purchased from Amazon.

Product itself is doing the job and looks good after we stained it. However, it does not come stained. And the cost is high for what it really is. But clearly, I still bought it as I didn’t want to wait all summer waiting for my husband to build one.

Product is not stained nor treated.Photo is clearly stained wood. Not sure how this product will withstand weather.If I saw it was in stained, I would not have purchased it.

Use to support a bourbon barrel that I use as a rain barrel. Looks very nice, after we stained it.

I expect it'll be sturdy enough, and at this (somewhat excessive) price, it had better be. But some of the pre-drilled holes hit force the included screws to hit alarmingly close to the edges of the legs they're supposed to be attaching. [cue sound effects of wood starting to split as the screws are driven in].I'll have to drill a few more holes and add screws in more appropriate spots before I put a rain barrel holding a couple hundred pounds of water atop it.And as most of the other reviews have mentioned, finish it in some way so that it holds up to winter weather. The finish is a real disappointment and the level of carpentry isn't far behind. "Precision crafted" or whatever the product blurb says? Honestly, I'd expect more precision craftwork out of a first-month high school shop student.

The rain barrel stand is sturdy and easy to assemble, however, the advertised photos showed the wood being a dark stained color and what I received for simply unfinished wood. Make sure you understand this before you buy.
