Easy to use, quality scanner for slides, photos & assorted documents, at a reasonable price
My Kedok Photo and Film Scanner arrived this afternoon. It was well packaged and in perfect condition. It was up and running in minutes. Hey folks! Remember to remove the acetate protective sheet from the photo plate. I suspect some of those disappointed with the photo quality neglected to remove it. That would REALLY mess with photo quality! I have an enormous quantity of family slides, photos, some negatives, as well as a wide variety of documents dating to the late 1800's. This Scanner will be used in conjunction with my 11x17 format printer/scanner. I put the Kedok Scanner to the test tonight - scanning slides, photos, and aged clippings (e.g. family obituaries). Everything scanned quickly and with good quality. If I have a photo I want to save with exceptional resolution & color I will use my 11x17 scanner/printer. But, for the 1000's of pieces of data I have, this scanner is perfect. It is a great value for the money; the functions are easy to use; there is very little set up; data transfers to my laptop easily.

Plexiglass scratches really easy
I love how easy it is to use but you have to careful with scratching the plexiglass. It does scratch really easy. It is an odd side to try and replace with something else.

Don’t buy
Not worth the time. Quality is very poor and the bottom of the lid will show up in the scan of the picture is not 5X7. Flimsy adapters for smaller size pictures. Many pictures are not straight. Will take too much time to manually edit each picture. Back to square one

Believe the bad reviews
It was too good to be true. I had to retire my 16 yr old Canoscan flatbed for film and slides that worked well for a while in early Win10 but now drivers are no longer supported or will load. VueScan claims to support this model scanner but only the premium version will do slides and film at $120. I was hopeful and read many good reviews and videos that claimed it was a good buy and negative ones I should have heeded. I wanted a scanner with at least a 3-4 slide tray holder and the Kedok has a nice and sturdy easy to open load and close one as are the other film trays. I saw that the photo bed was not glass but thin plexiglass or polycarbonate which with my knowledge of photography and also an acrylic craftsman, plastics are diffusive and naturally UV filtering as well as being a strong static attractant. But I was not concerned as my HP printer/scanner does just fine even at 300dpi on printed photos. One thing I can say is that my former slide and film scans (Canoscan 8800i and a dedicated SCSI linked scanner before the Canon) scans were usually 30-45 seconds each, and credit the Kedok super fast, maybe a second but obviously too fast. So if you're after quick cheap and dirty for hand held viewing this might be your inexpensive solution. The Kedok is to film scanners what the Kenner Easy Show Projector is to a Kodak Carousel, a toy. The first posted image is a printed photo from the HP printer/scanner @ a mere 300dpi.. The second is the Kedok at 22mp and horrible if I might say. The third is a of a very good slide with a very disappointing result also at 22mp. I am returning the Kedok tomorrow and it's back to a marketplace search at a much higher price point and having to rescan all my work. I gave it a shot and as they say, ya pays yer money and takes yer choice.

Awesome for slides and negatives
Easy to use. Works great for old slides and negatives. The photo portion uses the glass plate. Mine was very scratched producing a less than optimum scan. You can see the poor resolution and scratches on the picture. I reached out to the manufacturer to see if could purchase a new glass, but was told to return the unit to Amazon.

Excellent Product and Responsive Customer Service
This review is long overdue! I had some issues with the first item I received and I worked with the customer service to to fix the problem I was having but the solutions didn’t work so they sent me a replacement. It took me at least a month to be able to test the new one and more time to provide feedback. I can say that the new one works well and produces good quality images. It’s also very easy to use and it’s very portable. I like that I can easily transfer digital copies from the internal memory to my laptop and I can do some image enhancements while I’m scanning photos and negatives. The quality of the photos I’m scanning is often poor but I’m able to scan them and produce a version that works well for me.
