Works well at night
Was kinda skeptical at first, but it really works. The secret is turn on the purple light at night and get out of the room for about 15 mins. I've tested this device on flies, mosquitos and the knats. The bigger the bug, the louder the zap. Doesn't really work in the daytime, because the bugs aren't as drawn to the light.

Bug out without the bugs bugging you back!
This little bug zapper may be small, but it's certainly effective! It gives you excellent, portable coverage in a small, lightweight, package. The UV light creates ambient mood lighting for relaxing outdoors in the evening, but provides enough light to deter prowlers predators. Smaller winged nasties like mosquitos, gnats and flies get attracted to the light, which distracts them from munching on you when you're outside grilling or relaxing. The lamp light feature provides enough light to grill or do many tasks by. If positioned correctly, it would be more than sufficient to read by. The USB charging feature is super convenient - and the best part is that it will save a ton of money, since you won't have to buy batteries for it all the time! A full charge takes several hours, but gives you about a day and a half-2 days of charge, depending on whether or not you're using the solar auto on/off feature or turning it on/off manually, and whether you're using just the UV or the lamp light. I absolutely love the solar on/off feature! It saves battery life by waiting until dark to turn on. But if the mosquitos show up while it's still light of, you turn it on manually and once they get close, it's zap zap BOOM! It's very lightweight and fits just about anywhere. The feet allow it to be stabilized on a table top, but it also has a little loop attachment at the top if you want to hang it up on your balcony or overhead in your tent. It would easily fit in a backpack or bugout bag, and is very lightweight, so it won't weigh you down on the go. I have already recommended it to friends who have purchased one, and I plan to order another one very soon to place by my front door, since the mosquitos like to congregate there near the porch lights. (This one lives on my patio now.) I may even order a third, so I can keep one with my camping gear and emergency preparedness pack, so I can bug-out in a hurry without the bugs bugging me back!

Surprisingly it actually works!
I bought this expressly for camping in an area known for its heinous mosquito population. I fully expected to be disappointed. However, the zapper works! Look at all the dead mosquitos and other flying things in the photo. Amazing! It's important to note that this doesn't work in the daytime. It needs to be dark for it to attract bugs. I fully recharged the zapper each day so it would have max power and left it on each night for multiple hours. Every time I used it every side was covered with fried bugs including many, many mosquitoes.I had to ding the zapper one star because its not very easy to clean. It comes with a small plastic brush that you push through the openings in the cage covering the wires to brush off the bugs. When you fry a lot of bugs this cleaning process takes a little time. It would be much simpler if the cage was removable for cleaning.

Perfect Buzzer
It worked like a charm on the little fruit bugs and killed them all. Loved its buzzing sound

Does zap mosquitos, but some elude
Having successfully used Herbal Armor for mosquito protection in the past, I wanted to try this lamp just to avoid the slight waxy feeling left on my skin by Herbal Armor. I alway have 3 open windows fitted with removable screens for ventilation. Since I set up this bug lamp, I have cleaned off dead mosquitos in the morning, but also have been bitten twice while having the lamp on. The darker purple blue light captured in picture is a dim, faint lavender whether on the auto or the on setting followed by 2 white light settings one dimmer the other brighter similar to a nightlight intensity. No batteries. Rechargable, but after sufficient charging while moving the unit the charging light switched back to red (no charge).

Great portable bug zapper
Got this zapper after endlessly browsing through others on Amazon. What grabbed my attention was the pill design, and the auto mode.Once I received the bug zapper, I charged it, and turned it on. The purple light didn’t seem to be super bright at first so I had no hopes for it. Left it on for a few hours and I came back to a bunch of flies stuck to it. It really works and exceeded my expectations. The build quality is also great. Sturdy, high quality plastic. It does not feel cheap at all.I like the ability to be able to move this zapper wherever I need to. From the room to the living room. The battery lasts for a few hours and you can leave it on while your charge it.If you’re struggling finding a bug zapper, just get this one. You won’t regret it.

Works throughout the night with a single charge
This zapper is definitely much brighter than the other rechargeable ones I have gotten from the grocery store, despite it being rechargeable. It does catch quite a bit of moths and various gnats, and I was able to keep it charged using a solar panel on the side. A single charge does indeed last all night, and I was able to prevent gnats from entering my window because my window was the only source of light they can see. As others have mentioned, it doesn't make any noise and instead bugs just start sticking to the electrified netting inside and start accumulating there. After a few hours, there are already 10-15 insects caught in it. Pretty cool device, although you do need to keep it clean once in a while because it gathers bugs quite quickly in a 360-degree direction.
