Sonos connect RCA outs failed and this allowed unit to function again
I have the Sonos connect gen 2 for providing signal to house speakers and pool speakers via an amplifier. The amp does not have optical audio ins, only RCA (white and red). The RCA out on the Sonos connects failed, which they are known to do, rending the unit obsolete to connect RCA cables to a stereo or in this case an amplifier that pushes power to house and pool speakers. I purchased these to convert the optical audio out on the Sonos connect to red and white channel cables to connect to the amp. Please be aware that this product does not come with a power plug and you will need to connect to the USB power cable or plug into a surge protector that has usb 2.1 or 3 female receptical. The product worked perfectly and instead of buying new Sonos connect S2 (2 of them as first one failed a year ago), I was able to get the system up and running again using the optical audio out converted to RCA. Also please note that the PCM setting was fine on my application as I was not trying to carry 5.1 stereo or AC3 that may come from a TV optical audio out. If you are trying to get these audio features from a TV to a receiver or stereo, the seller clearly states it is incompatible. Not an issue for most applications IMHO.

Exactly what I needed!
This device allowed me to output the audio from PS4 Pro to my Presonus studio monitors that only had analog RCA and TRS inputs. It worked like a dream, with no fuss. If you're wondering what the difference is between the 058 model and the 048 model, it's only that the RCA cable is shorter on the 048, and the RCA connectors are female (helpful if you intend to connect a longer patch cable to reach between this converter and your intended audio device) but besides that they are identical. The 058 model I purchased was long enough for my PS4 pro to reach the console 6 feet away without any additional extension cables. For the price and performance of this product, I'm more than satisfied. It's a great buy if you need a converter like this!

Works perfectly except audio quality not the best
Audio quality sounds like it's in mono instead of stereo other than that it works

This Just works as intended
This works exactly as it's intended. Definitely plug and play.1) All parts are included to get it up and running2) Power supply via USB-A, HDMI, Optical and HDMI3) Blue light indicates power on when set upSound quality and volume are exactly like all other RCA receiver inputs. I recommend using any available open set of RCA "IN" on the receiver except the Phono in. Audio volume can be controlled via the TV or Receiver. Before installation it's a good idea to clean the dust and grime off the male RCA jacks on the receiver.

Doesn’t seem to work on all audio that is analog.
I tried this with many of my stereo products that I was trying to use a digital port. It did not work on any of them. They talk about using it on a TV. Maybe TVs are special. I don’t know, but I’m giving it three stars because I don’t know what it’s intended purposes specifically for, but anybody who thinks it’s as it advertises just analog to digital, Well it isn’t
