Love this mold
The media could not be loaded. So I am doing resin projects and was looking for a full football and found this, I thought it's a silicone mold it will work and well my first footballs turned out ok. The funnel at the top leaves an empty hole but I think I fixed that problem just takes a couple more days to get it totally full. I kinda like having the flat empty part because u can sit the football upright without it rolling. First picture is with the empty hole and second one is after I found the way to get it filled.

Works alright, ice is lopsided
Might be a me thing or a freezer thing. But my ice cubes always come out oval. Still cool though.

Fun ice
I got this basketball shaped ice mold for a sports themed birthday party to float them in a beverage dispenser of lemonade. The mold is easy to use, just put the top and bottom together, make sure all the edges and nubs are firmly pushed together, and pour water in the hole in the top of the top piece. Place in freezer, allow to freeze solid (several hours to overnight) and then pull the top piece off and push the basketball ice out. There are two negatives that I’ve found. One, the basketball ice is not smooth and clear. It ends up being cracked and a bit opaque looking, probably because of how it freezes, and it has a ridge around the center from where the top and bottom mold pieces join. Two, each ball ends up with a slight bulge in the bottom half. I have tried the mold twice and it’s been the same result both times. To me, none of that overly matters cause once it goes in a liquid, you can’t really tell. But then again, you can’t really tell that they’re basketballs anymore either. Haha They’re definitely not as pretty as the pictures on the product page.I suppose the best use for the ice balls would be in a rocks glass with a splash of liquor. They’re a fun novelty though, which makes the price reasonable for them.

Makes nice, big basketball-shaped ice cubes for use with cocktails
QUICK SUMMARY: This was my second silicone ice tray. My experience below isn't entirely specific to THIS product, although everything I share IS related to using this product.BACKGROUND: Until recently, I've never tried using a silicone ice tray before. I specifically selected this product because of the large basketball shape of the cubes it will make, which is desirable when preparing certain chilled cocktails where you want to minimize diluting the cocktail with melting ice water.WHAT I LIKE:- Easy to clean, you can handwash or toss in a dishwasher's top rack- Comes with a silicone cover so you can easily fill up the four chambers- Doesn't require as much effort twisting out ice cubes like with a plastic ice tray (I'm older now...)- Silicone trays should be more durable than plastic (no cracking!)- I like the shape of these cubes for use with handcrafted cocktails that need a single, large ice cube- Happily, the tray doesn't leak water where the top half meets the bottom half (I wondered if that would happen, but it didn't)OBSERVATIONS:- Although silicone is non-stick, these cubes still have to be pushed out of the tray, they don't just fall out when you turn the tray over and give them a light push- The four cubes are attached with some frozen ice which need to be knocked off if you want a basketball shape- The resulting basketball shapes are less than perfectly sized, but then, these are just ice cubes so I was fine with the misshapen ice balls- Prepare the cubes well in advance of when you need them. The water won't freeze quickly when surrounded by silicon. I put them in the freezer overnight for use the following day.WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:- Making ice cubes takes MUCH LONGER than using a traditional plastic ice tray. I was really surprised by this. I put a tray in the freezer and, four hours later, they weren't completely frozen yet (and my freezer runs at -9 degrees Fahrenheit)! This dislike isn't unique to THIS product but I dislike THIS product because it takes so long to make ice cubes; plan well in advance of when you need these cubes!- Because these are made of silicone, transporting them from kitchen sink (where you fill them up) to your freezer isn't as easy as it used to be. Silicone trays bend and flex, so you have to very carefully support the underneath side of the tray while transporting them.CONCLUSION: This is a good item, overall. The product does what it's supposed to do, and I'm really happy to have a large basketball-shaped ice cube to use with my Old Fashioned cocktails now. :) Recommended!

Fun and Festive Ice
I typically drink bourbon neat, but when football and basketball season rolls around, I tend to make more old fashionds. This ice mold will be perfect for basketball season. I have a couple of other ice molds, but they each have some shortcomings. One doesn't have a clear fill line so I tend to overfill it. The other has a rigid plastic shell which clips closed and has broken from ice expansion. This mold is great given it has a fill line and is more flexible allowing for easier release. Pro tip for clear ice - Use filtered water and place the mold in a gallon sized ziplock bag before putting in your freezer. Voila! I'll update with pictures later. My recipe for a Banana Walnut Old Fashioned:First make banana simple syrup:- Use 3 old bananas and a cup of sugar in a pot and simmer until the liquid sugar has incorporated most of the banana. Strain into a mason jar.For the old fashioned:- add 1.5-2oz of bourbon or rum. If using a bourbon, consider a nutty profile like Jim Beam (I love Knob Creek)- add .5-1 teaspoon of the banana simple syrup depending on how sweet you like it- add 2 dashes of Fee Brother's Black Walnut bitters (I purchased on Amazon)- add 2-3 drops of vanilla extract- add your big ice ball and stir

Decent mold. Very large cubes
This is fun mold for a basketball fan. These are large enough so you only need one for your favorite drink on the rocks.
