Very Happy With My Purchase
Worth the watch, a most enjoyable series. I started out intensely disliking the 'Mentalist' character then as I found out more about him the more I understood and liked him. Unfortunately I never grew to like his boss although I think we are all supposed to. I disliked her from the very off and it continued that way right through to the last episode. For the life of me I couldn't find one redeeming feature about her and it didn't help that I don't like the actress who played her either. Anyway, that said, all the other characters were great and the storylines were all good making this a great series all round.

TERRIFIC WATCH!
Having watched a few eps on TV, I decided to go for the box set - and didn't regret the purchase. I was so "hooked" on it, I binge watched the whole 7 Series. Simon Baker tend to play odd-balls and, in this, he's no different. He's incredibly talented and is joined by a stellar cast. Lisbon, played by Robin Tunney, make me want to scream at times as she puts not only Patrick Jane and the rest of the team but herself in danger because of her actions. Each character is amazing in their own way and Tim Kang (Kinball Cho) has some amazing one-liners, Owain Yeoman (Wayne Rigsby) has a lot of self-doubt, Amanda Righetti (Grace Van Pelt) is good at what she does but isn't given that credit until later in the series as she tends to be seen as more of a computer nerd rather than a field agent. Jane's search for Red John, who murdered his wife and daughter is relentless - and who can blame him. All in all, the box set was an exciting and incredibly watchable pursuit through Jane's journey to find Red John. The clear comradeship of the team is reflected in the actors' abilities. Just wonderful. No spoiler really but the ending is simply perfect.

Brilliant series from the writer of Rome
The mentalist is possibly one of the greatest series made for prime time TV, when it was shown on Channel 5. It was Written by Bruno Heller, whom also wrote Rome and went onto to write bigger things like Gotham. I like how Patrick Jane uses unconventional methods to catch murderers and bring them to justice including the elusive Red John. The first 5 series focused on the hunt for Red John whom killed his family, and during series 5 we finally get Red John's identity, and Patrick Jane kills him, finally getting retribution. Then he lives in Mexico, until he works for the FBI in Texas, in return for immunity form prosecution for him killing Red John, he now has to help the FBI for the remainder of series 5-7. I feel that the series did run for too long, and feel that it should have ended with him killing Red John in series 5. I also did not like Agents Rigsby and Van Pelt whom married leave the series until they reappeared in the last episode of series 7, and at least it has a happy ending that I won't give away.

Brilliant series, brilliant acting, loved it
I love Simon Baker, so when I saw this I just had to have it. Tho I’d never heard of him before this, but I’m sure I would have liked him anyway. He’s so good looking, and deserves a lot more recognition. I think…It’s like the hardy boys, I’d never heard of Parker Stevenson or Shaun Cassidy. And tho the acting may have been a bit stilted, I still loved the series.
