This machine replaced a previous unit from a different supplier, though they all seem to work in the same way: two rows of metal spigots are dipped in a trough of water, the spigots are chilled and ice forms around them in the shape of a bullet, and then they are ejected from the spigots and scooped by an automated paddle into a catch basket. They are remarkably quick at doing this, with a batch taking under 8 minutes. Once it fills the basket it detects this, and stops until either the cubes are used or they melt. The water drains back down into the water reservoir, ready to be reused.This model is very quiet in operation, and works well. My only irritation so far (after a week of use) is that the ice bullets seem "wetter" than my previous machine produced, and therefore if left in the basket for a while they will clump together more. Not the end of the world, and a great value machine.

This item is a surprise brilliant purchase. We bought it thinking it maybe handy for an evening with friends, as we kept running out of ice previously. This little wonder churned ice out all evening, with only a few top ups of water (as it ran out). It was so good, we use it most days. It’s a few months in and it’s still churning out ice perfectly.The device itself is sturdy and takes a minimal amount of effort to keep clean. It has a handy rubber plug underneath, to empty any water out of it when you are finished for the evening.When it is first turned on, it can take around 3 mins to get going, then it churns out ice until either the output tray is full or it runs out of water.Overall, I would highly recommend it for anyone.

Great machine which can make lots of ice fairly quickly, small& large ice cubes ( piece's ) .we absolutely love it 😀

After three or four times using this ‘Amazon’s choice’ machine, it stopped working. Tried all troubleshooting suggestions (basically cleaning), still no use. Because it is outside 30 days, I am not eligible for return and there is no product support. It was brilliant while it worked.Amazon customer support sends me around in circles, with no way of making a complaint.I see I am not the only victim.Do not buy.

I have been using this almost daily since purchase.Only niggles are the size of the ice is small. The machine should say small or tiny!We make the ice and chuck it straight into the freezer drawer. If you try to use the ice straight from the machine the ice melts very fast.It does what it is supposed to do. We use it all the time and i am now saving money from not buying ice in a supermarket. Make sure you clean it once a week if you use it regularly, i use white vinegar. Also empty it via the drain plug after every use so you do not have any standing water left in the bottom.

Does what it's supposed to do. Plenty of ice created and easy to use.
