Well built and valve moves like a piston in a cylinder. I love this valves beefieness!
It is built very sturdy and should hold up to use for a long life on my water bailer. Just have to remove the spring which will be easy to do by cutting it then pulling off. This will work great for me

The media could not be loaded. The threads are out of tolerance and to wide . All three different brands of nipples I put in the nose of the pipe bottomed out before the taper of the threads got tight . All leaked even with plenty of TeflonI’m out quite a bit of work to replace!Don’t buy!

Tough construction and easy to install
I should’ve brought this valve the first time, instead of cheap plastic alternatives, two of which broke. Save yourself a headache and buy this kind of quality the first time.

Valve action smooth, but threads a bit chowdered.
The valve spring seats the backflow prevention plate adequately, and is not adjustable for tension. The 1" NPT threads show damage after being cut, and numerous nicks show they rolled around in the parts bin and damaged the soft brass of the valve prior to being packaged and shipped. It probably would have threaded on ok with the provided teflon tape, but I chased out the threads and wiped out the brass shavings before installing on the inlet to a jet pump. The check valve is holding pressure well for my pump to not lose prime and it's not kicking back on from water backflowing to the tank.
