Vacation fish food
We were going to be gone and noone to feed our fish. I found these bought 2. They fed 14 goldfish and 10 bluegill for more than a week. Our fish loved them. The size fit perfect in the tank we had. Very easy to use, open top throw in water it floats they can eat it. When they are done it floats to bottom. It didn't dirty up my fish water. The color of the food looked exactly like packed fish food making it perfect for my fish. The can it comes in is very tough so no worries with it falling apart.

Worked great!
Although the instructions for use were unclear, (leave in metal container?) I removed the product from the metal container and placed in the bottom of the pond. Shortly afterwards I noticed my fish eating from it. Came home from vacation, food was gone, fish were healthy and the pond was still clear. Will definitely use this product again!

Horrible!
This product molded and 2 of my fish died! I was gone 3 days. It was so gross. I found it moldy and covered in slime. Never again. I'm sorry but that's the truth.

Did the job!
My 3 comet goldfish were still alive when I got back from my vacation 6 days later and they looked healthy. Only drawback is that it really made my tank dirty.

Worked great for my 120g tank
I went on vacation for 10 days and dropped one of these in my 120 gallon neocaridina shrimp and lesser killifish tank. It worked great! No noticeable increase in ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate. The gel held together well with no pieces breaking off that I saw. The shrimp and fish were swarming it when I left and still happily nibbling when I got home. The most difficult part of removing the leftovers was getting the shrimp to let go.

The manufacturer calls this a "Slow Release Feeder Block," but the fine print in the Feeding Guide says "The feeder block does not disintegrate on its own." That's good! This would seem to indicate the block provides food only as the fish nibble it away, instead of supplying a constant supply of food as the binder disintegrates. But the packaging also says the block only "Feeds UP TO 7 days." I can only assume that means the block will completely disintegrate within about a week and any remaining food will be released. Otherwise, if it still contained food and the binder was still functioning after 7 days, the fish would still be happily feeding from it, as needed, for the additional weeks you're away. With this in mind, the Feeding Chart on the package does not make sense. In addition to the 7-day feeding period, it provides the recommended number of blocks to feed (based on the numbers, sizes, & kinds of fish) for a 14-day period, insinuating the block potentially feeds up to 14 days. However, again, the message on the front of the box says "Feeds UP TO 7 days." I don't get it.Nevertheless, I've used these in my pond while on vacation, because there aren't many alternatives on the market. My fish supplier told me I could stop feeding for 3 weeks while I was traveling, and the fish would be fine, just eating algae or living off their internal reserves. But my pond has almost no algae due to an oversized filter with UV, so I was still worried I might be starving them. Before traveling for 3 weeks, I dropped in 2 of these blocks to at least feed them the first week. (According to the Feeding Guide, for my 6 medium-sized koi and 20 medium-sizes gold fish, I should have put in 3-4 blocks for 7-days or 6-8 blocks for 14-days. 8 blocks is $40+, BTW!) When I returned home after 3 weeks, all the fish seemed fine. But who is to say they would not have been just fine without the feeder blocks?

My pond goldfish love this food. I enjoy watching them swim to the top to eat it. My fish are healthy and strong since this food provides for all their nutritional needs.

Worked as expected
I was really worried about our pond goldfish when we left for our honeymoon. We were going to be gone 9 days and didn’t have anyone who could feed the fish twice a day. We have 5 shubunkin goldfish that are 1 year old and 1 pack was enough to feed them the entire time we were gone. The brick was on a shelf and the fish didn’t seem to have any trouble eating from it. It did not affect the water quality, either. Very satisfies
