Leviton 88103 1-Gang Duplex Device Receptacle Wallplate, Oversized, Thermoset, Device Mount, White

This thing is the most delicate piece of plastic I've handled. I was installing it, and before it was even anywhere CLOSE to snug, it snapped at the screw mounting point. It was aligned properly and not hung up on a receptacle. I was still at the point where I was just taking up loose slack by rotating the screwdriver shaft between my thumb and pointer finger... didn't even have my whole hand wrapped around the screwdriver's handle yet. I was headed to Lowe's later in the week anyway so I just bought a cheaper and BETTER replacement while I was there that worked just fine.

Like so many buyers reviewing here, a switch plate arrived pre-broken for my convenience! In my case, 1 out of 5. I certainly like the larger footprint of the plate, offering more coverage at the outlet area. When installing, you learn pretty quickly to screw the center screw gingerly, lest it crack due to ANY surface misalignment with the outlet. It's impossible to imagine the manufacturer just can't figure it out: How to manufacture their product with a less brittle (or more flexible) material. I’ll try and keep this short and too the point... I like these wall plates but they are quite frankly cheap plastic. They look great. They cover outlet areas very nicely being that they are oversized all ways (length, width and depth). I was looking for something that specifically provided more depth to cover a gang box I installed when relocating an outlet. It did the job so I ordered enough to replace my whole house. When I installed my 2nd one of the full batch I cracked one plate way too easily. I pulled it to replace and cracked the 2nd one. VERY frustrated because it was then that I tested and realized the plastic IS NOT FLEXIBLE. If it were made of something more pliant this would be a 5 star review.

Honestly I’m disappointed but it wasn’t expensive so I guess that’s my fault that it broke so easily all I did was twist it to a point where it wasn’t wobbling off the wall and moving side to side and it completely cracked in the part where I circled yellow. I could’ve just went to Lowe’s or Home Depot if I knew this was gonna do that. Smh I i’m not even sure if this is worth a refund. Save your money and move along

Very fragile plastic. 2 of 3 came broken. I tried to return it and get a replacement but then 1 came this morning also broken. This is ridiculous. Returning all 3 for a refund. I will have to drive to the store to purchase.

I ordered two of the oversized light switch covers and they installed just fine. The two outlet covers BOTH cracked while installing them, at the screw hole. I was not putting any undue pressure on them. I have installed enough outlet covers in my life to know that I did nothing wrong. I cannot recommend these.

These do their job. I needed a larger plate to help cover a chipped tile by the outlet and this was just big enough to work.I can see how over tightening would probably cause these to crack, so if your outlet is slightly crooked or the wall bends at all, you may want to get the flexible wall plates instead. You can tighten those down and they will flex or dip so you can close up the gaps you might have when trying to install over a crooked wall or outlet.I installed this over a tile wall that is very straight, so I just tightened it enough to hold. I had no issue with cracking this way.

These are larger than any existing outlet cover in my home, but that’s not the deal breaker. I bought 4 of these and all 4 cracked at the screw. Still usable for now, because the cracks aren’t all the way across, but I don’t see them lasting long at all.

Arrived cracked at the screw hole so it won’t attach to the receptacle properly. Too much of a hassle to send it back. I Mcgyvered a fix for it. The receptacle is in a mostly hidden location so it’s not a big deal.

I had read reviews saying how fragile these were, so needing to cover three outlets I ordered ten outlet covers expecting at least one or two to break, but I was able to put the three on without any of them breaking. They certainly covered the overcuts on the backsplash tile I installed.They did what I needed them to do!

Ordered two as 'add on' items, both were broken when delivered. DO NOT BUY!
