Yale Dummy Siren Bell Box (Dummy Box) [Energy Class G]

Great product that really looks the part. Rent a workshop with lots of expensive machinery and tools in it, and due to the construction of the workshop (converted chicken shed with asbestos roof) it was virtually uninsurable. I didn't feel comfortable leaving £0000's worth of equipment out there with the only deterrent a rusty padlock or two, yet couldn't justify the massive outlay on a full domestic alarm system for a property that isn't mine. Needed a deterrent even though I live in a nice area and the workshop is in the middle of nowhere and in a nice area too. Got this and it looks great, the workshop is connected to electricity supply and has been well converted so looks completely feasible, however I didn't put flashing LED's in because was advised by a salesman in Maplin's that alarms usually only flash when they have gone off or if they are fake. I coupled it with a cheap wireless shed alarm/movement sensor that blasts out 140db of sound if you enter and don't deactivate with a code, and the two are enough of a deterrent for me and all for the princely sum of £40. The fact that this is a branded real alarm box was a seller for me as really looks the part, have seen them on houses in my town, and this means the potential burglar has to assume that it is a) fake, and b) not connected to the (cheaper) key pad alarm I have inside, would they risk it? I don't think so. Why bother when there could be easier pickings?

Pretty expensive for what is essentially just the outer alarm box.This has no LED lights or any electrical gubbins but that is the idea. This could be filled with the alarm mechanism if required at a later date or should you be adding extra alarm bells/sounders etc.The plastic is of good quality. It was fairly easy to mount the back plate and it comes supplied with screws and plugs. I ended up ditching these and using my own, longer, screws to get a better secure mounting on our old style concrete wall.Then it is a case of securing the lid with the final screw. This wasn't a security screw which was a little surprising but providing you mount the alarm box height enough it is unlikely to be tampered with.Especially in full view of the street too.Overall, exactly what I was after and a good quality Yale product.

Firstly I bought this alarm because it DOE`S NOT FLASH ,most alarms that flash can be identified as dummies , not only that why would I want too be climbing up a ladder to replace batteries every so often.This alarm cover is an excellent deterrent easily fitted and a cheap alternative to a real alarm system and IT LOOKS GREAT.

Because this is a REAL siren box, not a replica, you genuinely can't go wrong - it is the EXACT same thing as the real one you'd get with a Yale alarm package, but empty with nothing inside. So there's no need to discuss the quality of it, or whether it looks genuine etc, because it's exactly the same as the real thing.I didn't want to spend hundreds on a real alarm, because they're fallible anyway, but I did want some form of protection, so for me, this was the ideal solution. The fitting was easy with just a few plugs through the backplate into the masonry, then screw the cover back on - took me 5 mins max.

I bought this to put on the blind side of my outbuilding facing a footpath through a neighbouring field, as a deterrent, but have the real Yale 'live' box above the pedestrian door and in view of my house. I think any burglar worth his salt would be able to look up at the dummy box and identify it as fake due to the absence of the row of L.E.D lights that are fitted to the real thing. It would work as a deterrent from a distance but not if the thief can get close up to it and look up and see that there aren't any L.E.D lights in it. The fact that I have two boxes on my outbuilding would make any burglar suspect that one at least might be real, which it is. Why would anybody spend £50 on two dummy boxes when you can get the complete alarm system with a box, two PIRs and two door sensors plus a remote keyfob control, for just over £80. I'm pleased with the dummy box in that it is displayed on a blind side of my outbuilding and should work in conjunction with the real one and put any potential thief off, hopefully.

Have installed the Yale Home Alarm kit,and wanted a matching "dummy "siren cover for the rear garden side of the house.This is the actual Yale Siren Cover without its batteries and electrics,so obviously an identical match.The flashing LED's on the real siren only activate if the alarm itself is also activated,so I don't see the point in putting a permanently flashing LED in this dummy siren box( you can purchase one separately if you think it may add a further deterrent, however.)Good value,and very easily fitted.

Arrived promptly, very easy to install and really looks the part. As I had about the only house in the immediate area without an alarm or visible alarm box, thought I had better do something about it!Whether it will be a deterrent to potential burglars, I really don't know, but it may well put off the opportunist. Certainly worth the small cash outlay. Recommended.

Rarely leave review but feel as it is my civic duty to do so on this product.Definitely a buy for anyone with a Yale Smart Alarm System: 100% compatible in style with the latest system which makes it a great value purchase - happy customer for sure
