PI-UPTIMEUPS - Uptime UPS Hat for Raspberry Pi&Trade

This is a really UPS good device. The good news is that it's basically a plug-n-play device and after connected up it worked the first time for me. Keep in mind that it doesn't come with the correct length of standoffs or what size they should be so those have to be ordered standoffs and other parts separately. It took a bit of research to get what I believe to be the correct parts needed to mount it correctly to the Raspberry Pi. I'll find out if I got the right stuff once I receive everything.

Unfortunate that regardless of what batteries, how fully charged etc, even no batteries and you still get the “lightning bolt” icon due to this giving insufficient power to your raspberry pi. Running this on raspberry pi b3+.

The item comes with a super long stacking header. I didn't want to have such an empty space from the main board and use two spacers to make up for it so I took my angle grinder and ground down the pins with an angle grinder and a sandpaper flap disc. I had to deburr the pins with a wire brush on a die grinder but after that it sits like it does in the picture in product images.

A good addition to your Rpi system. It provides UPS protection to your power supply and can also be used as a portable power supply. You need to download and install a program from their website to have the safe power shut off on low battery voltage. I have not had a chance to test and see how well this works.

On a Raspberry Pi3B with Raspbian Stretch I'm getting intermittent under-voltage kernel errors. These errors occur when the device is plugged in and the batteries are charged.This seems like it would be a great device ... but these type of kernel errors are not acceptable.

Working with Alchemy to solve this. Installed correctly and placed in two brand new cells - the battery low light stayed on even after charging. Possibly bogus cells from Amazon. Purchased new verified authentic Samsung cells and received a replacement UPS from Alchemy but still having issues with the battery low light and GPIO status, so while it works, I still can't get status to gracefully shutdown. The good news is it works, but for me (tested on 3 different Pi's) we have not figured out why the low indicator is not functioning. Confident that Percy will help resolve this.

I have received this product only a few days ago and I'm testing it. It seems very promising for my application.Also battery change is quite easy. This is a good advantage with respect to solutions involving jst connectors - sometime battery change is a bit difficult.
