Does the bag close with a zipper or is it open (no zipper)?

Hello. Hello. Our bags do not have a zipper to close up when being worn, however they come packed in a nifty little zip pocket.

Has anybody tried to wash this in the washing machine? Do the colors wash out?

I've washed it fairly regularly, haven't noticed any color bleeding or fading.
