Small and dainty

This is a very small tea set, expect to have a separate hot water pitcher ready as it an hold maybe 8-10 oz of water. The case that it came with is somewhat damaged, and there were not additional instruction or instruction / warranty cards included. It is pretty however, actually matched closely to my Japanese set in color and pattern.

I ordered this thinking to gift it... unfortunately, two of the cups were chipped -- I assume from the lack of wrapping before boxing and shipment. The cups are more shallow like Japanese tea cups instead of the slightly narrower and taller traditional Chinese Kung Fu tea cups. The pot and the cups look quite nice overall from the interior glaze to the rougher bottoms. The handle on the tea pot is large enough for almost any index finger, but the lid has no attachment nor traditional braided cord though it is more breakable than the traditional Purple Clay Kung Fu tea pieces. The gift box is nice and more like a cross between a gift bag and a box with its ribbon handles.While these are lovely for a gift set for display on a shelf, I would not expect that they are good for more than occasional use to impress some .friends that lack Chinese tea culture exposure. I am rating these four stars for a gift, though my set was damaged so I am deducting a star for packing materials and shipping. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary...

This tea set is made to make very small "tasting" amounts of tea at a time. The idea is that to give proper respect to the tea you should enjoy it as it blooms and as the strength fades. First brew isn't to drink, but to heat up the cups. After that, you brew four or five times. I suggest watching some tutorials for more information.The top teapot part has tiny holes in the bottom and its stand also has matching holes. You set the teapot on the stand with the holes not aligned. This steeps the tea. You shift the teapot until the holes in the stand are aligned with it and the tea drains through the bottom of the pot into the stand and flows down the spout into the awaiting second pot. (Sorry I don't know the proper names.)You use the same tea leaves to brew until the flavor is gone.The set is beautiful. I love the koi fish and the blue color. A perfect conversation piece that allows you to enjoy all the facets of tea.

This tea set is so beautiful. It's simple but ornate, it's thick but looks delicate. They feel like such good quality, and I very much like the setup of the box they came in and how the set fits inside. I was very sad to find the box had been very damaged. There were a lot of dents and even a hole in it, but it was so pretty so I'll still keep it to store the set in. Overall I am happy with the purchase, I do wish that it had been packaged better to protect the box itself.

I'm a tea connoisseur for sure! And this little tea set just makes the moment of sharing tea with a friend even more lovely! Such a beautiful array of color that is vibrant and stunning! All pieces were in tact... no chips or dings! Packaged nicely! I would NOT suggest placing tea set injury the dishwasher, but rather hand wash and allow to air dry. Pieces are NOT heavy and bulky, but rather delicate to the touch! You can feel the authenticity with every little sip! This would make for a very lovely gift to give to anyone who enjoys tea time! Most definitely NOT for "play tea time" that we played as little girls with our dolls! This set is real showy and looks phenomenal out for display! I'm so happy to have this set and enjoy it quite often!

I used this in my classroom for Chinese New Year! Taught kids my understanding on how Chinese drink tea and displayed the tea set. They were very respectful. Now I can enjoy at home! Well made, inexpensive and very attractive

It was too small for any practical use. It looked like doll dishes. Proper size and it would be perfect.
