Fantastic stool for playing a guitar ...
My wife suggested I write this review for the attention of all ditherers out there, whom, if like me, are wondering whether or not to buy one of these stools. For decades now I have suffered unnecessarily it would seem whilst playing my guitar. I have tried all sorts of chairs and stools over the years and all of them resulted in me having an aching back within a few minutes of playing. I could never get comfortable, I would put one foot on top of the other to raise my leg to rest the guitar on, and I would fight against a swivel chair’s natural tendency to turn. Around 12 months ago, I came across the Konig and Meyer range of stools on Amazon, and it took me that length of time to hit ‘buy now’. Why oh why did I wait this long? The stool is excellent, easily adjustable for seat height, seat inclination (I have it parallel to the floor) and footrest height. After 3 hours of practice this afternoon, no aches and pains. What’s more, I definitely played better without the constant nagging effect of an uncomfortable seating position. It’s a perfect position to use stompbox switches too, and tap a foot in time to a beat. It’s easy to stand up from and to sit back down (I wear a guitar strap and the guitar feels perfectly positioned whilst seated). I like the way the feet position on the footrest, and it seems to take pressure of the back this way. Seat padding is firm yet plush - very comfortable indeed. I like the leather-look finish, and don’t confuse this with the horrible leatherette finish that peels, typical of cheap furniture. The build quality is excellent, and quick shipping from Europe (expedited delivery was supposed to be 3 days, it arrived in 2). The only assembly required was to clamp the footrest in position. It folds away easily and neatly for storage and carrying around. Not too heavy at all, but solid and sturdy. I went for the non-pneumatic one, figuring that once the height is set, I wouldn’t be wanting to change it; I am confident I made the right decision for me. So, if you are wondering whether or not this is a good purchase, in my opinion it most definitely is, so stop dithering and buy it! My only regret is not having purchased this stool sooner!

A “must have” piece of kit for all guitarists - as far as I am concerned.
I am very pleased about this purchase - as an ageing guitarist it will no doubt relieve my back pain. The stool and backrest are of excellent design and quality - very sturdy and comfortable - and extremely adjustable.I bought the mechanical adjustment version of the stool with faux leather material. It was very easy to set up - to my exacting requirements.I cannot fault this combination of stool and backrest for guitarists old & young - a “must have” piece of kit in my view. It’s worth every penny as far as I am concerned.

A high-quality stool that is comfortable and adjustable.
A really comfortable stool for me - just what I was looking for - high quality German engineering and extremely adjustable. You have to attach the footrest yourself but it's pretty straightforward - and in assembling it you can see just how well-made each individual component is. This thing is built to last!I was going to get a stool badged by Fender or Gretsch, and while they looked stylish they didn't seem as well-made as this. I can play for hours without any back trouble and would thoroughly recommend spending a bit more for a quality, practical product. Oh, and it folds away!

Very Good, Just Not For Me
A tricky review to write in a way - this stool does what it is designed to do well and is exceptionally well made with quality machined parts and construction. I also added the optional backrest which further added to the comfort. It's expensive for sure, but this is a top-end item. So far so good. However, where this one didn't work out for me is in the positioning of the cross-bar footrest. Their position on the main stem places the feet under and slightly back at an angle which I didn't find comfortable. These things are hard to describe in words but the sense is of being perched, rather than planted on the stool. I began to yearn for feeling the floor on my feet and then wondered why I'd want to be 20cm off the ground at all.I think this stool would be very well suited to live performance - the sitting height and position look cool and would elevate a performer nicely on stage. But I just wanted a comfortable seat for practicing at home. Ultimately I returned it and got a Mapex drum stool with backrest. With my feet firmly planted on a room, a nice comfortable saddle-style seat and a backrest I can lean back into, I'm much happier.

Konig & Meyer Musicians stool
Wow !!!! ......... were my first thoughts when i opened the very well packed double boxing. After fitting the foot rest (simplicity itself) i parked myself on it. Still Wow !!!! ....... Very well padded (on the firm side) some hours later and non of the numb bum, it is still very comfortable. Design and material quality is top shelf, with enough versatility for most heights of people. Very well thought out and extremely well made. I have no doubt this will be handed down eventually to my great grand children. For any guitar player this stool is a must, it is rock solid on the floor, rock solid construction and looks pretty rock n roll !!!! ........ Buy one ...... you will not be sorry ..........!!!!

Not cheap but worth every penny
Tried a couple of other stools which were really not comfortable. The seat on this one is nicely shaped and very robust. Not cheap but worth every penny.

Good but not perfect
Very well made with a nice thick padded seat. At first if found the ridge around the back of the seat annoying as I wanted to slide further back (due to foot rest position) but the ridge got in the way. After some experimenting I found it more comfortable with the seat very slightly nose down. The foot rest adjusts up and down but I would like it if the foot rest could be adjusted so that it is further in front of you so that your feet are more in the position the would be sitting on a normal chair instead of having you heels directly below your bottom.I have arranged mine so that I sit with one foot on the floor and one on the rest.
