Great learning tool!
The media could not be loaded. The Pirouette Board is an excellent tool to help dancers learn how to turn. Many people actually don’t like these kinds of boards but let me tell you why this one is so great. First, the design. It’s slick on the bottom, which makes it easy for the board to spin on the dance floor. It has thick padding lining the top of the board providing maximum comfort and grip for your foot. Second, this board is ideal for helping dancers find their center and learn to spot easily. The second your body is not properly aligned, you will tip over. Start slow with one or two turns to understand how it works and test your alignment. Last, this board is designed for beginning, intermediate or advanced dancers! The main reason I hear negative things about boards like this is that it doesn’t teach you how to turn on releve. This one does! Because of the padding on this board, it’s comfortable to go into releve and stay there. This is for the more advanced dancers once they’ve mastered doing it on flat without falling over. My daughter, in the video, is known at her studio for her turns. She can whip them out like no ones business. However, when she went on releve, she was only able to do 3 turns without falling over. Not because her foot hurt, but because her alignment was slightly off. Something she never realized she was doing prior to using this board. Overall, if you’re in the market for a turning board, I highly recommend the Zenmarkt Pirouette Board! And it comes in a nice velvet carrying/storage case too so you can practice your turns anywhere!

Very fun
Really fun to use and learn with but use it on flooring you don’t care about and be careful.

Hmmmm...as a dancer...
The product is of good quality, but as a dancer and dance teacher it is not needed! Teaching kids to turn should just be done the old fashioned way.Without supervision, this puts bad habits into place quickly ("winding up", bent legs, strange balancing).Fun as a toy, but can absolutely not replace good training.

The glue spots dig into my foot.
It works really well, stays balanced well and doesn't scratch the floor. The board is nice and wide too, plenty to grip the board with your foot. However, the glue dots that they use to glue the plastic to the foam are painful! They dig into the ball of your foot right when you are up on your toes. It makes it almost hard to find your point of balance because you keep trying to avoid the glue (which is where I balance best.) It also came with an excessive amount of string as if the designer intend you to wear the board like a backpack. The outside edges are rounded but not the inner edges where your foot actually rests so it cuts at your foot unless you are perfectly in the middle.

My 8 yo got it for Christmas. She is really liking ice skating, and is constantly practicing her turns. This will definitely help her for sure!
