I have always had a drying rack of some kind to dry sweaters and delicates. Sometimes I have used them almost exclusively to avoid using the dryer. Line drying is the single most effective thing you can do if you truly care about the environment.All of my previous drying racks have been wooden, because they hold up much better. I have yet to try a metal one that was not flimsy. But, my good old wooden rack that has been repaired over the decades I have had it is just ready for the next campfire.My biggest complaint with my wooden racks has always been that the top section flips up and collapses the rack every time I add or remove items. I've had those wooden racks collapse just because I bumped them. Not any more! This rack has the top bar attach neatly & securely into some heavy duty plastic clips. It actually takes a little effort to get it to pop out to collapse the entire rack. When you do collapse it, you have a very small unit to store, because of the best feature . . .All of the cross member bars are expandable so you can shrink it to about half the size. This feature allows you to adjust the rack to fit your available space. Or, you can use it full size and collapse the entire rack to fit in a small space ready to go for next time. I am so excited about this feature because I misunderstood the product description.The rods and fittings are all nicely finished so you should not expect to have any snags on your delicate items.Assembly is pretty straightforward as long as you use the directions inside the box. The ones on the box itself do not point out some important tricks to getting the best result. There are two sizes of rods. Three are specifically for the top portion, labeled C. The ones that are not labeled or have a D are for the rest of the rack. There are two different ends on the rods. The correct way they will fit easily into the slots, the wrong way will require you to force it in. Figure out one rod and all the rest will be the same. Start at the top and work your way down.There are several ways to shorten or lengthen the hanging rods. The easiest is to collapse the entire rack down. Place one side on the floor and step on it. Then with both hands apply even pressure to either lengthen or shorten the rack. This will also minimize twisting making sure the rack and its connectors stay tight and secure for a long time.

I really needed a drying rack in my laundry room and I have very limited space so this is a good choice for me. It fits perfectly and I like the option of extending it. I did take off a star because of its height, it seems like a missed opportunity to be able to add more items to it if it had an additional row or two.Also the listing says it can be put together in three minutes. Well, maybe for someone who’s really handy but I can barely change a lightbulb and no one was around to help me, but I did get it done in 20. So that’s not too bad.

This drying rack is 100% metal materials. It's very easy to assemble and took me less than 5 minutes to get it all together.Love that this can slide down into half the width- it makes storing the rack so much easier in my apartment. It's also nice as you can use it at its full width size if you have a lot of clothes to hang dry, or slide it so it's smaller if you only have a few or smaller clothing to dry- it's quite versatile.Since it is metal I am a little worried about it getting rusty, but only time will tell if that will happen. So far I am very happy with this for the reasons above.

I’ve just recently started assembling my own purchases after depending on my husband to do it for me for years. So I’m no expert, but these directions were easy to follow.The poles clipped in easily.It folds down simply too.I typically hang up my nicer work clothes to dry each weekend. Now with this portable drying rack I can hang them outside to dry.It’s faster and nice to have the clothes out of my way outside. Overall I’m very pleased with this rack.

Comes in a couple of sections but is pretty easy to assemble. I like that it not only folds up for easy storage, the width is also adjustable so you can expand it to fit in your available space. Made of white metal and plastic it looks pretty good in the laundry room.
