1/2" BSP Garden Garage Workshop tap Valve Lock by Padlock, padlocking tap

Great tap. Works well.

Solid construction and works well. Able to put on an ordinary sized padlock to stop anyone interfering with the water supply.

I bought this to put on a publicly accessible tap to lock it off. However having installed and used it I have found it really useful if you have trouble with turning the usual outdoor taps on and off. The leaver moves 90 degrees to turn it on fully then back into the lock position shown in the picture to shut off. This makes for a very easy operation. Also no leaks and it was easy to install.

This tap allows you to lock any outside water outlet and replaces the standard tap. It is easy to fit using PTFE or equivalent as usual.Note the red tap handle operates on a very light weight pivot pin which fell off the first time I used it. Hammering the end has fixed that. It requires a padlock with a 6mm hasp to lock the tap.

Good product at reasonable price

Does exactly what it says on the tin. 1/4 turn of the handle gives full flow, so no messing around. Being lockable is nice insurance against some of the pond-life in Leeds who like to put hosepipes through people's own letter boxes and turn them on.

A good idea to stop vandals leaving your tap running my only complaint was it took some fitting as PTFE tape wasn't enough to seal the joint it allowed the tap to go half a turn too far ending upside down with the tap facing upper when tightened up, this was rectified by using insulating tape instead and only tightening to two third of the depth of the thread. It doesn't look good but it works and tightens up well.

Great idea good quality, and it's a quarter turn tap ( doesn't mention that in the text) so spot on
