Easy to work with. Profides shade and wind block

I used this tarp as a rain cover for my swim spa. I tied it like a tilted canopy so that water would drain off it and not pool on top of the spa cover. I used about 8 grommets to tie the tarp down with various types of paracords and clips. It lasted through a few storms, but then the grommets got ripped out one by one, unable to withstand the wind, even the corners that had the extra "triangle of reinforcement" didn't stand a chance. I then bought a set of "alligator clips" to grip the now grommetless sides/corners of the tarp, and those very swiftly tore big chunks out of this "rip and tear-proof" tarp. We are not talking hurricane force here, just regular California winter storms. This thing is definitely good at protecting whatever is underneath it from getting wet, but I would only recommend this for waterproofing in a gentle weather environment if you are using it in a way that will cause it to catch wind in any way. It would be fine for very short term use, but it won't hold up for more than a few days in more demanding conditions. I will be searching for something sturdier for next winter.

The tarps are far from heavy duty. The first one didn’t last one windy night, the grommets are decent but they are attached to very thin main tarp material.
