Overall, this is a good product for the price. It's still flavorful and tastes as it should, we just felt like we needed to use a bit more of it in our regular recipes than we usually do, to get the same taste. But it wasn't a dramatic difference, so we're still happy with it. It smells fresh when you first open the container, and the leaves were still mostly green.

I have used these Eastanbul Thyme Leaves, 2.5oz in several occasions and I am happy with the results.I have used it to marinade lamb chops and once I grill them, I can smell the thyme leaves which add a nice flavor including some smokiness. I have also used them in omelets but I have to leave the eggs and the thyme leaves sit together for few minutes so the power of the leaves can be extracted. Then I cook my omelet for a nice experience.The plastic container has a ton of thyme leaves and has a seal in the cap along with expiration date on the label to check on the freshness of the product.

I used this last night for one of my favorite dishes ... pork tenderloin on the grill with a cherry sauce. Both the tenderloin and the sauce included Thyme. I covered the pork with Thyme and placed in on the grill and for the sauce, the thyme was sautéed in oil in a pan as the first step.The Thyme in the bottle looks a little brown but it still has very good flavor. Even before I removed the foil cover from under the lid when first opening it, you can smell the flavor. When I put it in oil and sautéed it, the green color was refreshed. It was very good in both the sauce and grilled.This is a nice spice at a good price.

This is a large bottle of green thyme. The quality is good, and it has a lot of flavor and aroma. It has earned its place in my pantry. I really appreciate the smaller holes in the lid, so you don’t have to worry about shaking out too much. I would rather shake it for a longer time.

Thyme is my favorite spice. I use a LOT of it. The picture I have posted is this Eastanbul thyme next to the remains of my bulk thyme I get from Sam’s. As you can see, the Eastanbul thyme is a much lighter green than the burnt looking bulk thyme, but it is also much less fragrant. I prefer the bulk thyme from Sam’s.This was disappointing, as I have received many things from Eastenbul that I really like and recommend, but this thyme just doesn’t have that thyme punch I want. In a blind smell test, I’m not positive I would have even been able to identify the herb, and thyme in general, whether fresh or dried, is usually pretty obvious.
