Got this for my 3 pets to prevent tooth decay and improve the smell of their breath. I've only used it a couple of times but it smells amazing and they seem to like the taste. Sadly my cat has given this a massive thumbs down. He hates it. When I squirted this onto his teeth, he started frothing at the mouth, looking very distressed, shaking his head, and was trying to be sick.I think the frothing at hte mouth is probably a response to disliking hte taste. I wonder also whether the spray effect is something he doesn't like. The Bugalug Cat Dental Care spray has a powerful projecting spray, so it is difficult to spray it onto just the teeth of a cat - I think it effectively sprays the whole mouth even when you hold the dispenser right beside his mouth. It would need a much smaller and less powerful spray to only get the contents onto a cat's teeth and gums.Given my cat's acute distress and running away when I get the container out, I have not applied it again, so I have no idea if it would work or not to help care for the teeth.I do like the idea of the dental spray, as the cat is getting older, and at our last vet check up, she said ideally he needs some kind of dental care. I can't imagine trying to brush his teeth like we humans do... the vet also said that it's rare for a cat to allow you to brush their teeth and to watch out for scratches and bites!Will have to keep looking for another method.

the ide of the product is fantastic - and overall the ingredients are really nice and natural.In practical application my cat hasn't taken to it at all.The soun dof the spray and the feel scared him away and he wouldn't even go near the spray bottle anymore.So then I decided to use a cotton swap and spraw the cotton tip and rub it on my cats teeth - that was more successful HOWEVER I beleive the mint in the spray is the real kicker here - while it's nice for humans, my cat dislikes it alot. ANd he's fine with us opening his mouth and checking his teeth - so that was a clear indicator that the flavor would need be adjusted.I could easily put the product on his teeth with a cotton but since he will not bite down unless I'm done, but the mint is what he then ran away from seconds later.SO Im afraid this procut is a no from me and my kitty

We thought we would give this a try when we ran out of seaweed sprinkles, and to see if it has a lasting effect. Our cats run a mile from a spray usually (I think it must sound like a snake to them), and they know the bottle is a spray, so the first challenge is to get them to stay still. We managed to treat two out of three with this as the other one is far too wild to risk it. They seem ok with the taste as they dodn't run a mile and sit licking their lips afterwards. We will keep using it to see how it goes. Their breath obviously smells better too, but we don't often get close enough to their mouths to smell that anyway! I think it's a great idea for laid back cats.
