Overall fantastic stuff! My scalp disagrees but please read on!
Having never heard of batana, I wasn't sure what to expect. Googled the effects and uses. After about 3 months of on/off use... I've learned a few things. For reference, I have very long/thick straight hair.Pros:✅ Hair felt bouncier and revived from its dull/lifelessness of neglect✅ Helped reduce frizziness and maintain healthy strands despite being in the sun✅ Adds noticeable shine even after washing offCons:❌ I have an oily/dry scalp, while it did help reduce flakiness it made my scalp feel grimy and heavy after an hr. I stopped using it on my scalp, only midstrand-ends❌ I can't get used to the smell so it's not a hair oil that I would use for daily maintenance but rather for set/rinse off. Even after rinsing the smell seems to lingerNote: I really think batana has wonderful benefits, but my scalp seems to disagree. There will always be oils that our scalps and various hair types will disagree with despite the benefits. What may not work for me, may work for you. I would say it's definitely worth trying or mixing into your hair oil regimen!

Does Wonderful Things For My Hair
For reference, I have thigh-length 2B hair that is generally healthy, but has a tendency to frizz--especially in high humidity. Living in the PNW near a temperate rainforest? High humidity is a way of life.I use this oil as-directed (apply product throughout hair, then wrap hair in a warm towel for 30 minutes prior to shampooing) and am *amazed* at how deeply it conditions and leaves my hair silky and manageable without weighing it down or leaving a residue. I use two filled droppers for my super-long hair, and it is more than enough to work through completely. As I've only used it on my hair and not on my skin, I cannot speak to how it performs as skincare, but I fully understand why it is such a sought-after oil for haircare. My only complaint--and there's really nothing to be done about it--is the oil's very pungent odour. I don't particularly care for it--it brings to mind burnt leaves mixed with freshly ground coffee--but my husband absolutely *abhors* it, saying it smells like something died and was then cremated. For obvious reasons, I only use this when he is out of the house.Still, I will definitely be replacing this as soon as the bottle is showing signs of nearing empty. My hair can be stubborn, and I love that I have finally found a natural product that actually works for it!

Love this Oil!
I am a fan of batana oil, which comes from a palm seed in South America. This bottle (plastic, not glass) of 100% oil also has an inner dropper. Batana oil is very versatile. While it's suggested here as a hair mask or oil, it is also wonderful for the skin.As a hair treatment this is a much better oil choice (in my opinion) than castor oil, which tends to be heavy and sticky. Batana is light and soaks in well. I usually put a few dropper fulls on my scalp before shampooing and rub it all around my head and hair. There is no stickiness or problem washing it out. You can also add batana to your hair after washing -- just use a little bit at the ends or do a light coat over your hair.As a skin treatment, I really love this oil. It soaks in so well and helps to keep skin supple and hydrated. Be advised that it DOES have a scent. I personally love the smell -- a bit like earthy coffee -- but if you are scent sensitive this is probably not a good choice for you. Overall, a really great oil and happy to see you get 100% oil, no additives, in the bottle. Recommend!

Civavo Batana Oil 3.5 oz
The Batana oil box says it is 100% organic and is for nourishing hair and skin. It is for external use only. The best way I can describe my initial impression of the scent is that it reminded me of the most amazing coffee house brewing delicious coffee with notes of hazelnut and caramel. When I put it on my skin the scent was not as apparent or strong minutes after it absorbed. The oil absorbed readily into the skin on the back of my hand and it did not feel greasy. I put it on my scalp to test it out. I did not experience any irritation. The product absorbed quickly into my hair on my scalp. I expected it to feel more oily, but it was actually absorbed really well and did not leave it feeling slick or greasy feeling. The box says “miracle oil from Honduras “. Time will tell if the oil is miraculous for me, but this is definitely worth trying!

Delicious-smelling and super hydrating!
This batana oil smells sooo good! It is pretty easy to use, whether you wear it all night or for just half an hour before shampooing...or anything in between. It comes with a convenient dropper for dispensing, which really helps to apply this stuff where you want it without any mess. It does seem to hydrate and moisturize my dry hair. My hair looks smoother and even my split ends are more tamed and under control. It's way too early to know if this stuff is encouraging any new growth, but the dropper makes it easy to apply it to my scalp, so I will continue to try. This is a single-ingredient product: 100% organic batana oil. I *assume* that means it's also cruelty-free, but of course, I can't be sure. I wish Civavo would make their cruelty-free status clear on their packaging. Even so, this is a great product that I am enjoying using. It's very affordable and well worth the purchase, so I happily recommend it. Four stars!
