Raleigh - Tru Build 26 x 1.75 Inch Rim Brake Wheel with Nutted Axle Alloy Hub in Silver

The wheel was delivered well packaged and i am happy with the value - one very slight issue was the cones were a little too tight but this was easy to correct.

Fitted easy enough and seems to work fine. Note that this is only the one back wheel, despite two being pictured. It's a single wall design, built by Raleigh and does not include rim tape. The build seems fine from the outset but I have noted that there's a small lip at one point on the rim which slightly catches the brakepads if they're set close to the wheel.

So far so good. Seems a decent enough wheel for what I was looking for. I'm not a serious cyclist and lucky if I do 30 miles a week. Bought this as I broke a spoke on my old dawes hybrid as it worked out cheaper than replacing the spoke. Was thinking of replacing my old cassette so bought a new one and had no problem fitting it. Only time will tell if it's a well built wheel. Only downside was the size of box it came in could easily have got 10 wheels in it.

These wheels are brilliant. The delivery was prompt but in a massive box. The wheel feels sturdy and is easy to fit.

I was very happy with this when it arrived, along with a new inner tube, the tape etc. I attached the sprocket, pumped up the tyre, took it down to the bike shed.... and it doesnt fit my bike. A total waste of money.

Generally excellent wheel, however I found the cone nut slightly tight. Spinning the axle by hand does not feel smooth and well adjusted. I duly loosened the cone nut slightly, and the wheel now spins without great load on the bearings. The wheel spins true without any substantial deviations. The bearings used on this particular model are the loose, uncaged type (9 are used) ; during service, care must be taken not to damage the built-in, dust-caps. I use these wheels with a Vittoria Radonneur trail tyre. Recently, I have noticed a freewheel 'wobble' when the bike is placed on a stand. This is attributed to an imprecise thread milling on the hub. The wobble can be so severe that my pedals also oscillate. This is quite disappointing considering Raleigh prides itself on manufacturing wheels to a strict tolerance.

Single bead rim. Wasn't true when arrived. I had to re adjust spokes few times. It seems rim is changing shape with time. Too soft.

The rear wheel is of good quality, light, with175 mm axle and bearings. A nice replacement of an old wheel on my 3x7 bike. Suitable for a standard Shimano 7 speed cassette.
