ASICS Men's Cael V7.0 Wrestling Shoe

"Fit as expected" after learning the hard way hour differently sized wrestling shoes of the same printed size can be.Regarding size, I had been wearing size 6.5ASICS Matflex 4s before ordering a pair of Snapdown 2s, also 6.5 I should have heeded the size warnings, as the Snapdown 2s in size 6.5 were significantly more snug than the Matflex 4s. Definitely order at least a half size or whole size larger than you might normally wear.Learning from that mistake, I returned the Snapdown 2s and ordered these Cael V7.0 shoes in size 7. They were cozy, but not in an arch crunchy way. In a sturdy, huggy way, so I kept them and broke them in over the next two weeks. At two to three weeks they started to break in and form around my feet. The ankle supports were a little bit stiff at first, but those loosened up by about week 4.I like these a lot. Like my Matflex 4s, I use these for martial arts. They are flexible enough that I can still use good weapon formation, but thin enough that they won't hurt my training partners. As noted above, they are sturdy. I recall that my old Matflexes began to give when I started learning spinning and jumping kicks. but these are holding up extremely well.The Matflex 4s were a good first shoe, but putting in the extra investment for the Cael V7.0 shoes was the right decision. It's one of those cases where the difference from one product to another is drastic.

I've spent over 20 years of my life involved with wrestling, and during that time I've worn many a pair of wrestling shoe. These babies are a tight fit, it took about a week of breaking them in in practice before my feet quit going numb. But even now they are a pain to get on. I normally wear a 13, but wish I would have tried the 14s. unfortunately I didn't have time to send these back. Other than that they are a decent shoe, they are no Rulon Gardners though, which is what I was replacing.

We bought this shoe for my son who is in his first year of youth wrestling.He wears an 8.5 and we originally bought a 9.0 and it was too tight. We returned and bought a 10 and it is working well. I believe one full size from your regular size should fit well.These shoes have lasted a season of practices and matches and we are happy with our purchase and would definitely consider buying these again.Some wrestling shoes seem pretty expensive and I think these shoes deliver good performance at a good price while satisfying a person who is budget conscious but wants their child to wear something that’s of quality.I added a few pictures of the shoes.I think they look good and the color will match with a variety of uniform colors.Good luck in your search for a wrestling shoe.I hope this review was helpful.

Comfortable shoes that are good upgrade from previous versions. Bought these for my son who is senior varsity wrestler in high school. He had the Cael 5.0 but the soles on these are better and he likes the traction on them. These shoes usually last 1-2 seasons, but Murphy's law always has them wear out mid season. My son went almost two seasons on his Cael 5.0 until they cracked and he almost wasn't allowed to wrestle. I recommend replacing shoes every year so they are broken in by the time season matches start.

Not as well made as the older style of Cael’s. Really wanted to like these but they just don’t fit right. Very flat in the toe box and sizes ran very small. I’m normally a 9 or 8.5. I ordered a 9 and couldn’t even get my foot all the way in and my toes was so squished. I ended up passing them to one of girl wrestlers that has a smaller feet.

I purchased this shoe for my 13 year old son who had a big wide foot. For some reason you can't find wide wrestling shoes anywhere. I contacted the companies and the suggestion was to order a size larger than he normally wears. He generally wears a 13-13.5 4E. His foot is wide than the soles of these shoes, and I had to buy longer boot laces in order to get them laced up once on his foot, but they have held up and work for him. Price was reasonable and shipping was fast.

I usually wear 8.5US which should be 265cm. I bought a 9US and the cm on the tag is 265cm. So this shoe uses a different measurement. Check your other shoes and make sure to buy the correct cm or buy a half size up US.

I got those shoes for my son. I was a little nervous of buying shoes online but when he got them and put them on he couldn't been more happy. Very satisfied.
