Thin But Plyable
This product is paper thin but it was easier for me on my particular project than a thicker veneer and much less expensive. I didn't want to spend $40 on veneer at the local woodworking store and end up with a lot of excess. As I said, it is paper thin but plyable. I needed to put facing on a drawer front and one edge of a bureau. I tried gluing it onto the drawer front but ended up with some air bubbles so I removed it, applied more glue the second time and got a good bond on the second try. I used a 400 grit sandpaper and a very light touch to sand the edges of the surfaces that I refaced and it turned out pretty good. I thought that one side of the veneer had more of a red tint than the other side so the flip side that worked out best for me (I hope that makes sense). Given the price, I thought it was worth a try and it worked out for me.

Too Thin
This veneer is extremely thin and very difficult to work with. The project I used it for looks terrible, but I will keep it in place as a temporary solution until I can come up with a more solid idea. I do not recommend this product at all.

Doesn't meet US specs for WOOD veneer
Product does not meet specifications for Wood veneer in the US. It's too thin, splits easily. No protective backing. It seems to have poly something used in the material, so it may or may not repel paints and stains, and some craft adhesives. The finish is splotched, not consistent -- both matte and semi-gloss lusters. Typical natural tree rings appear machine created. Color isn't red oak, which has red or orangey hues throughout. It's more like thin wall paper.

My Experience
For my use, which was on trim, which was not the same oak wood that I used to make my drawer it worked wonders. The colors were spot on and the application, although quite challenging, worked well. I used wood glue and wallpaper glue, which I think was better actually.
