Can't believe I waited this long. 98 land cruiser perfect.

This hood strut fit my '03 LX470. Seemed just a tad (1/2") shorter than the old hood struts but that made it easier to replace (didn't have to compress the strut to get it screwed in). Holds the hood up nicely and shuts as it should. Installed 19 May, 2024 (for record purposes, will report if/when replaced). Price on-par with other low cost options on Amazon. The "easy to install" images in the page description aren't accurate for this particular model that installs with the threads, but it's still easy with a 12mm open-end wrench and something to prop up the hood with. Images show old/new struts side by side and new strut installed. NO instructions in the kit, so i just installed them the direction/orientation the old ones were. Upon further reading i might should have flipped them because then the shiny end would point slightly downhill when closed instead of uphill which aids in lubricating the seals. Main thing seems to be opening your hood periodically (you know, to check your oil/fluids) to let lubrication in the strut do its thing.

For $20.99 less a 6% coupon at the time of my review, the set of Front Hood Lift Supports offered by HHCSOP as a replacement for the 100 Series Land Cruiser/Lexus LX470, is undoubtedly a good value. The dimensions and mounting are just as the OEM Struts. Installation is easy, but support the hood's weight as you change the struts out with a length of wood or some other support to prevent it from closing on you..
