Home Recording Studio Build it Like the Pros

Good but not perfect.
I bought this and several other books before starting my studio project. It was helpful and reasonably well written and did prove a good read! However it is an American book and suffers from dealing with mainly US based products. Most of the info translates, some does not and further research was needed.Having read the book I ended up making the decision to have a consultation with Recording Architecture. In this 3 hours I learnt more than I had in a year! Having said that I am glad I had read this book as it meant I had a good grasp of the issues and problems I faced. Buy the book, read it, read others, visit websites. Use your knowledge gained, mix it with common sense, and you will be alright. Remember none of this stuff is cheap..
