Columbia Women's Extended Saturday Trail Pant

They're OK. I thought these would be the end-all of travel pants now that I'm just using carry-ons no matter how long a trip--but--no. (Got burned once with my bags in the US while I was in Switzerland for 5 days with nothing; therefore, I had to buy another suitcase and an entire new wardrobe. Came home with 3 checked suitcases -- never again!) The front pockets are open slants, so they stick out and gap, looking very odd. I'm normal sized, not hip-y at all, and these just look weird. There is also very little chance I could wear these as I wished: covering flights, hikes, touring and dressing up for say a nice restaurant in France. They look like a casual sporty hiking pant. These won't cut it, the search continues...

Love these pants! Definitely order one size up though, they do run about half size/one full size smaller than regular pants. I hiked two full days and these pants lasted really well through brushes, a few clumsy falls and some wetness. They also dry pretty quickly and look somewhat fashionable (c'mon, we still want to look good while we hike :))

My main disappointment with this pant is how poorly it performs in high grass or brush--thorns easily penetrate the fabric (ouch!) and they also act like a magnet for attracting dry grass, which stick horribly to the polyester and are hard to remove. The fabric also pills. I think these may have been designed for paved urban trails and are just not rugged enough for my needs.

If it weren’t for the fact that the bottom (cuff) seam is seriously unraveling on one leg, and well on its way to doing the same on the other, i’d have rated these five stars, but after just a few months of light and occasional use, this kind of unraveling is unacceptable, imho.

Well, I like them and they fit well, but I am a little disappointed with the color. I expected "India Ink" to look more blue. It is really kind of gray, with a bluish tinge. Some day I will actually find someone selling blue trail pants. I thought I found it, but not really. I will wear them, but I had been hoping for pants that would match some of my tops better than this.

I just got these pants yesterday, so I cannot review how they will feel while hiking in them for long periods of time. However, I wanted to caution any one who plans on purchasing them to order a size up. I always wear an 8 in pants. I shop a lot, just ask my husband, and regardless of brand, my size remains consistent. Because of other reviewers who suggested buying a size up, I did. These pants are a size 10, which literally kills me to admit. They were somewhat snug!!

I love the way these pants fit but after having them for some time I noticed they pill and snag very quickly. Also the velcro on the back pockets create snags on the back hem of my shirts. If Columbia fixes these things, I'll buy a pair in every color!!

I own both the grey and green colors for work in 6 long and love them! They keep you cool and fit great! I was so excited to find pants in a tall size that were actually long enough for me. Unfortunately, I ordered two pair of the Fossil color and both were waaay too small! I held the, up to my other two pair and the fossil pairs were about a half inch smaller in the waist and at least a half inch shorter. They are being shipped back first thing tomorrow.
