So happy! So cozy!
Love the white and design! It’s not too hot, just right weight! I got rid of my last one because it ripped and I wasn’t sure if I wanted another one but I’m sooo glad I got this when it was on sale. Instant calm and cozy!

I was skeptical, but i think there is something to weighted blankets!
I’ve struggled with insomnia for years and years, in part due to what i call “runaway brain” and the inability to fall asleep for over an hour or more. I thought it would get better with retirement but it didn’t. I’ve tried CBD, THC, antihistamine, melatonin, white noise, listening to podcasts with a pillow speaker, turning off blue screens by 8 pm, all to no avail. So while watching the morning news recently there was mention of the benefits of weighted blankets, which I had heard of before but considered them to be a gimmick. But this news report talked about the how they release serotonin levels. So I thought, what the hell, and went off and did some research online. I eventually choosing this YnM bamboo blanket after reading many reviews.Because I weigh 115 lbs I bought the 12 lb blanket. (The proper weight is 10% of your body weight). At first i thought it might be too heavy - it does take a bit of getting used to, and I probably would have done well with a 10 lb too, but it’s not enough for me to exchange it for the lighter blanket. I do feel that i am getting used to the weight after two weeks. What happened right away is that the first time i used it I fell asleep within 30 minutes. And even though i still had to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, i went right back to sleep. It was my first night of 8 hours of sleep in months and months! However, I didn’t credit the blanket just yet because it was particularly cold that evening and sleep is always better during winter weather. But second night, same thing. While I did get a little warmer in the middle of the night and threw it off, I later put it back on and slept until 8 am. Again, i had 8 hours of sleep, without runaway brain and also falling asleep faster. This is unprecedented for me.I’ve now been sleeping with this blanket for a couple of weeks and have decided there is indeed something to weighted blankets and better sleep. I am having vivid dreams that tells me i am getting deeper sleep. At times in the morning i don’t want to get out of bed because it feels so cozy. (I’m so glad I’m retired!)Observing my experience, my husband is now interested in getting one as he too suffers from insomnia, so we are going to get 20 lb twin size for him. That way i can get rid of the blanket under the quilt which I believe will help us from getting too warm.I do love the soft satiny feel of the fabric and the color gray that I ordered is a beautiful light gray. It was surprising how flat it lays when folded (see photo) as I was expecting it to be bulky. I may do an update here later and give the blanket 5 stars but it’s still a bit early and i want to see if it holds up and how it washes. I decided against buying the duvet cover as reviews show that it doesn’t fit that well. Also i want the blanket to look nice when folded and i don’t want to struggle every day getting it off and on.Edited to add on 7-11-20. I changed my review to five stars after sleeping with this blanket for months. It’s amazing. And is still like new. I am even using it in summertime and it does not make me hot (we do have air conditioning and cool air keeps the blanket fabric cool.) my husband loves his too. I’ve recommended this to many friends.

I Look Forward to Using This Blanket Each Day
12/3/18: I had seen weighted blankets advertised and had a faint interest but was uncertain of the general cost or benefit. A relative ended up buying one (forget the brand) and I got to test it on their couch a few minutes. It was pleasantly cozy and somewhat comforting, but felt a bit too heavy on my chest. It was a 20lb blanket. The brief experience was interesting but didn't fully sell me on it. Months passed, and of course I kept seeing them in ads. My curiosity eventually spiked again and I checked out the one advertised, and then searched for alternatives with good reviews. Browsing brought this blanket to my attention with the large size option, comparative cost, and ratings. On top of that, the bamboo option that was supposed to be cooler was a big plus, as I sleep hot, so if I did use it in bed and not just on the couch that would make a big difference. It came packaged as expected. It is clearly produced overseas and still has the hilarious tag as shared by another reviewer last year. I ordered the gray color that to me looked blue, but I like the gray/blue shade. (In one photo I'm wearing a navy hoodie while holding the blanket for comparison. Lighting obviously affects it as well).I took it out, laid on the couch, and got under it for a quick test. As I'm under 150lbs I ordered the 15lb blanket as recommended. Spread out it doesn't feel very heavy (disclaimer: I bought the largest size so it's more dispersed), but as noted before, I wouldn't necessarily want it heavier. At the time of this initial review I've owned this blanket for approx 1.5 weeks. I've gone back and forth wondering if it is "worth the money," but when I consider NOT owning it, I feel a little sad. I like using it and look forward to using it at the end of the day. I primarily use it just sitting or laying on the couch, but have used it to sleep in bed a couple times and did not wake up burning up. I have it wrapped around me now. It's comfortable, comforting, and cozy.I am slightly concerned as I caught a solitary bead that escaped, and last night I found a piece of wire poking out from one of the squares. (Why was it there and are there more?) I trimmed the part poking out and it hasn't come back since. This, with nightmare reviews of beads coming out or threading coming loose concerns me, but as long as the bead and the wire were isolated incidents, I'll compare it to a feather poking through or coming out of a down comforter. If it continues or escalates I will revise this review. For now, I am pleased with this creature-comfort investment. Additionally, compared to many other outrageously prices weighted blankets out there, I think this is "worth" the cost.Photos: Blanket upon arrival, included brochure, the humorous tag, blanket against my navy hoodie, and adding to the dogs-with-the-blanket pics. She does seem to enjoy it, too.12/28/18: I upped my review from 4 to 5 stars. I got the cover and it's very silky soft. No additional or new issues with the blanket. I really enjoy it. I use it while watching tv and in bed. I sometimes wake up sweating and have to push it, or other blankets, away, but this happened before this blanket and I still choose to layer it. My b/f likes to test it out when he's over and said he may have to get himself one.

You sleep comfortably but the quality is not the best and it very heavy but it’s comfy
I really like how this blanket feels, it’s very heavy and hard to fold and put away to store if not leaving it out on your bed. I bought it for my fiancé but he doesn’t like us to use cause even though I bought the largest size it’s not big enough for the both us to use together so we can’t cuddle. It’s only big enough for person to use. So with that being said I don’t get to use it often, only if he’s not home. I sleep very well w it and it does not get me any hotter than a regular blanket would.Bad things: a lot of the seam threads are already coming undone and from using lotion on my hands and feet it leaves marks that stain and you wash it and I didn’t buy the duvet cover.Overall I would recommend it. My mom slept over the other night who doesn’t sleep well and gets horrible menapause night sweats and she slept well and didn’t sweat as much as usual.

Great for sleep quality!
Bought as a gift and I keep hearing how wonderful it is, and how sleep promoting. Even the dog seems to appreciate it! Only thing that would make it better would be a washable cover...

Great purchase, but pricey
Pricey for the King and heavy when bunched, but so far looks to be high quality and well made. Sensory sleeper really likes it!

Nicely Cooling, Perfect weight, very soothing.
Weight distribution is best of the 3 weighted blankets I have now had. Feels very even, comfortable, and soothing to use. Bought so I could still use a weighted blanket in warmer temperatures. It's perfectly cooling and I can keep the blankets up to my neck like I like to.
