Small but functional awesome pedal
Great tones , super small backup rig or for jam session or practice. With the editing app the sounds you can deliver are limitless. I find as. Line 6 helix owner I play more with this because there’s less tweaking options so you play more than menu diving.

Fantastic Amp Tones
I'll cut to the chase and note the downfall of this unit: the software. It can be difficult to use (the knobs are insane) and honestly I tend to not edit on the computer at all (I use the manual nobs, which are pretty intuitive) or use the USB C connection except for loading amps. That being said, for (used international) $130 you get fantastic amp tones, and a huge variety online. I personally wouldn't use most of the effects with the tiny unit, but if you're looking for a DI amp, practice tool, or backup for your traditional amp, this is the best at the best price.

Pedal? good. Software? Not so much
Overall I really like the Tonex One pedal, it sounds gnarly and will end up replacing a decent chunk of my rig. But dear god getting all the software to work was a challenge, but once you stick it out it becomes easier. But for the price, it’s a very good deal, and in my opinion, a game changer.

Takes some effort but sounds great once you figure it out
Initially I would've given this thing 3 stars because the sound running direct out of the pedal into an interface is ok but not great. I turned the IR off in the global settings and ran it thru the effects return of an amp and that sounded better. But then I plugged it into my Two Notes Cab M and that was the trick for me. Sounds excellent... close enough to my tube amps that I can't tell a difference. So, definitely try it thru an IR loader if you have one. The software takes some getting used to, but once you figure out your workflow it's fine. There are a lot of excellent free captures if you have the patience to do a little searching!

very complex massive learning curve
Terrible product. Learning curve is massive. expect to spend months trying to get this thing going with Amplitude 5 and Tonex software. editor is quite complex and so far I cannot get one sound out of it other than massive HUM. Same for Amplitude 5 and Tonex MAX. licensing is also complex. Half the time the windows program locks up and does not respond. Software is very complex and very busy to the point one has no idea how to navigate. This is a *highly returned item* according to Amazon. that says it al l!

Boutique Amps and Effects at your fingertips
Awesome little pedal, but the underlying software is the star. Have both Tonex and Tonex One.

Cool product. Just not for me.
I was looking to upgrade my direct to p.a sound from my pedal board/di. I normally use an amp and mic it up on stage but looking to go direct more in the future and bag the amp. My direct rig is my pedal board into the Radial JDX drive which has amp/cab sim. It’s pretty good amp sim but not great. Adding in a graphic eq pedal after my overdrive pedals makes a huge difference so that’s what I do when I go direct. The Tonex One pedal is very cool. I watched tons of YT videos and read the manual twice before purchasing it. Operating the pedal is easy. And I got the hang of it quickly. I found a couple of good factory clean presets and tried it in a couple of different places in my pedal chain. It’s sounds pretty good and I could see it working live as a direct solution. But honestly after hours of comparing it to my current direct rig, it didn’t sound any better. My rig works just fine and actually sounded a little bit clearer and better to my ears. So I’m returning the Tonex One. Cool idea and I’m sure lots of players will love it. It’s just not for me. Some day I’ll go in full bore and get a Fractal. For now I’m good with my rig. The digital modeling and ir captures will only get better. So maybe some day.
