This was so nice and useful I never got to use it! (The first one at least!) My wife loved using it so much I ordered another one right away and gave her the first one. Both are great. I use mine to hold my laptop vertically in "desktop" mode. She uses hers horizontally as a riser to lift the laptop. It is equally useful both ways and is a quality piece.

Easy to put together, light and is versatile. Great for laptop and keyboard.

It is what it says and shows. The quality is really nice and is easy to assemble. It is sturdy and stable.

Missing from the dimension pic is the width of the slot; it tapers down from about 1.5" (open end) to about 1"; I had to open it up on a miter saw so that it was 1.5" all the way to the bottom (older Dell e6430/14" display). The support bar fits loose on both ends; so I'd opine it's not terribly "stable". Laptop essentially serves as NAS storage for all users on network; getting it vertical saved lots of space on my desk. For the $ it's a good deal if you can make it suit your needs. I rated it 3 because I think it's neither stable or sturdy; BUT...if you put a drop of wood glue on the ends of the rod it'd be fine - and it looks good once done.

It doesn’t take up much space. Lightweight, made of wood. You can either have laptop open or closed depending on the stand.

I bought this because I needed a way to use my laptop on my desk. I looked at other laptop stands, they were too big or simply not a good shape for my small desk. I wanted a stand that was like a shelf, so I could have my laptop on top and anything else (my other screen) beneath it. But I could not find something that worked well.So I stumbled upon vertical laptop "stands" (theyre not stands rather they are holders like the ones for folders) and even though they're designed to hold a laptop when it's closed, I thought "What if I used it to hold my laptop while it's open?". This product was the only one (well this one and the other Chinese copies) that was tall enough to even look like it could support an opened laptop where the weight is distributed in a wider area. All the other holders were very small. So now I have my laptop in the thing, raised safely(?) above and behind by other screen.The product itself, I wonder why it's made of wood. Sure wood is more eco-friendly but plastic or metal is the norm. The box it came in was kind of smashed and crumpled but the product itself was in good condition (I assume these dont really sell much so they just sit in the back of storage getting beaten on). Easy to assemble theoretically, but the stick got stuck in one hole and was slipping easily through another hole. So I had to hammer it through one side and the other side might slip out some day.But works fine for me, as the only solution to my small desk problem. My desk is too thick for a display arm, too short for an additional 27" monitor (probably wont even fit a 24"). My second monitor is a small portable one designed for laptops. My laptop Im using like a second PC (not another screen).

I love the natural wood, simple construction and can be used standing up or laying down.
