For 18-50 year olds ONLY - my son says it is the best pre-workout drink EVER
My son said to give this 10/10, 100/100. He said it looks a bit like foamy swamp water but it tastes decent, and it is absolutely the best pre-workout he has ever used. (He has tried MANY in the past and has never been so enthusiastic about one!) Bottom line, it works. The packaging said 40 minutes before your workout, but it takes more like 50. It makes him absolutely ready to get in the ring. It gives a tremendous energy boost. Tonight, for instance, he went 3 times as long training as normal, with twice the ring time sparring and still some energy for weight training afterward. According to the pack, the time it takes depends on your body size and metabolism. He's a big guy, a heavyweight, tall 21-year-old, who has lifted weights and boxed for a few years now.It dissolves foamy but overall it doesn't leave clumps or lumps, it mixes just into a liquid with a big foam head. The taste is ok and it doesn't have any particularly bad aftertaste. It starts out white and turns blue when mixed. The package says it is effervescent but neither of us would say this is fizzy. Foamy is a good description I think. (It's not like alka-selzer or Emergen C.) The nice thing is that it doesn't settle out so it doesn't get wasted in the bottom of the cup.He didn't notice any particular tingle but he did notice that the energizing effect ramped up, so he wanted to do more when normally he would be tiring. I noticed his workout wear was absolutely soaked in sweat when he came home- some of it looked like he had been hosed down but it was all sweat. It says that people under 18 and over 50 shouldn't try it. I was going to try it, but I am 50. My concern is that I am not sure how much creatine is in it, and I like to know that.

Pre-workout supplement for increased metabolism
I have recently made a commitment to myself that I will work as had as I can to loose the last 10 lbs that I tabled by the end of June 2018. I have been steadily loosing weight for over a year and my body has reached plateau in the last 3-4 months. So loosing those last few pounds is quite a challenge. I decided to supplement my diet with protein drinks and metabolic supplements during my workout sessions. For any athlete, this product is very intuitive to use because it reminds one of athletic strength of a famous Hercules. This package contains 23 servings of power that can be added to any drink or water prior to the workout session. One serving has 10 calories coming form 2g of carbs and 2g of sugar. Serving also contains vitamins: D3, B12 and B5 that enhance energy levels in a body and minerals: potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus. In general drink is design to help muscle stimulation during workout and help increase metabolism. The unusual thing is that drink has blue color, which is artificial and unnecessary. There is also a fizz to this drink and I am not sure if that is supposed to mimic mineral water, or a gimmick that there are active ingredient in a drink. I am hoping that my stamina will increase with using this drink s I can spend longer hour in the yoga studio practicing and therefore loosing more weight. But I wish that product had no artificial ingredients - if it did I would give it 5 stars. I do not use this product on a regular basis, I use it as a little help in making my exercise and weight loss efforts more effective.

Tingly feeling - yes, endurance - not so much
After using the Herculin pre-workout supplement for a few times now, this is what I gather from my body's reaction. I feel the tingly feeling within 10 minutes of drinking it. Herculin recommends that you workout right when you feel the effects of the supplement. For me, my primary workouts are cardio group classes such as Les Mills Body Combat and Turbo Kick Boxing. With the supplement, I definitely felt the surge of energy during the strength training portions of the class. But I felt like my endurance was a bit lacking and worse than if I had stuck to my regular 10 oz serving of 100% coconut water. So if you're in the market for a supplement to assist with muscle building and strength training, I'd recommend this. If you're pushing your limits at HIIT or cardio intensive classes, I'd recommend drinking some coconut water 30 minutes before your workout. Additionally, the Herculin powder is a little difficult to fully mix and will require a bit more vigor when mixing. I used about 10oz of water because it's pretty sweet. The flavor is great and easily drinkable.Pros:- Great taste- Low calorie- Great for strength training- Effervescent formula allows quick ingestionCons:- Lack of endurance for cardio-specific workouts

Definite energy boost. Time will tell as far as the lean muscle promotion.
I'm rather new to pre-workout drinks, but recently have been trying a competitor drink (C4 Extreme Energy) on some days. I'm not a gym rat, but do a home workout daily and usually a brisk 2 mile walk. This Herculin Extreme is very similar in my body response to the C4 Extreme Energy that I've used ( a very definite workout boost). The preparation and drinking experience was a little different. This Herculin Extreme is fizzy which I like. But I don't care for the flavor as well as the C4 and this Herculin doesn't mix up as thoroughly (some clumpiness). Again, the workout boost is there. It turns my walk into an extended power walk. And makes it easy to throw in an extra round (or two) of pushups/sit-ups. In fact, it's important to do a workout after taking this, as otherwise you may be left with the jitters. I won't use this daily, but when I'm dragging or in the mood for some extra work this will be a nice assist. Seems to do what it says (energy boost) and is pleasant enough to use. As far as the lean muscle growth promotion - time will tell. I'm over 60 so I'm not expecting miraculous results. We'll see. I won't detail the whole label, but basically a serving is 10 calories, and contains, among other things, substantial doses of Vit D3, Vit B5, Vit B12, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Sodium, Potassium, and Calcium. Not a bad mix. Does contain caffeine, as part of the proprietary mix.
