Very Nice Flash that's Rechargeable
I recently bought a Sony a7R III mirrorless camera, which is a professional level camera body. It has a universal flash shoe, but like most camera bodies of this level, no flash. I bought the camera for astrophotography, landscape, insect, and macro photography, so I don't use the flash very much, but I want it available.Since I don't use the flash much, having a TTL flash isn't worth the cost. I looked at a couple of similar flash units. This is the only unit that has 100 brightness settings. Of course, I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between 36% or 37%, but I'd like to have more than 8 preset levels. Plus, the most important thing to me is that this flash unit is rechargeable. I hate carrying batteries, especially when they're just sitting in the case with the camera. I don't leave batteries inside of anything for storage. Although I do have to carry alkaline batteries, and I carry batteries that are supposed to be "leakproof", I've found that there is no such thing as a leak proof battery. The flash unit is very nice. Unlike many others, it has a metal shoe, which protects the plastic. It seems sturdy and well made. It fits and works on the Sony body seamlessly with its universal flash foot and plugged into the Sony port. It's a small unit, but it lit up the other side of the house through 2 rooms, which is over 40 feet away, very brightly at 100%. You can choose anywhere between 0-100% flash. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this unit.

People are not understanding the power rating
I see a lot of people complain that the flash is too bright. YES it is! and this is a good thing. This is a manual flash amd you have to understand how much power to use. This flash is rated for ISO 100, f/8 when using 100% power. if you use iso 100, f/4 aka two two stops slower than the rating then bring down the power to 25%. You have to calculate how much to put. This may not be ideal for beginners. This is not an auto flash. This is fully manual. You have to understand the exposure triangle to properly use it. this unit is fanulous if you understand. I use it for street photography and never has to use it above 10% power. The battery lastst long.

Great Power Not So Great Product
This flash is very powerful. So powerful that it whites out photos. The power level determines how high and low the flash is. But even at 1% the flash is so bright that we as dark skinned look very light skin in the images or the brightness is so bright the image is pure white. I thought the size of this product was perfect for on the go content with my Sony ZV E10. I’ll likely return and find yet another alternative

It’s a great little flash for beginners.
For the prices it’s a great value for the money. It is VERY BRIGHT which is why I didn’t give it 5 stars. Sometimes TOO bright. But it’s an easy fix when you adjust the brightness. Indoors I have to have it on about 3%. It works perfectly with my Sony ZVE10 and I love how it builds the quality of my photos. It’s very user friendly also. I’m happy with my purchase

Auto Does not work with Olympus EM-1 Mk. II
When set to Auto, the flash fires at 100% with no apparent interaction wioth the camera metering. Everything is blown out at reasonable distances. Manual can be used, but it is only percent power and does not seem to have in-flash metering. My other complaint is how far back the flash comes over the back of the camera. I can barely used the viewfinder.I like the brightness, the controls, and the built-in battery, but I would pass on this flash unless you want it for some low power fill.

Camera flash
It’s kind of hard to get the correct flash on. I had to use the lowest number on flash so that the picture didn’t come out too white.
