can't beat the value! good output, faithful mid-scooped strat tone
cant beat the price, but for my purposes this isnt the go-to solution for pickups in most cases. they are super clean, good mid-scooped stratty tone, but very low gain (volume is fine, though!) and surprisingly a bit noisy too. i'm not a stickler about single coil hum, as it just comes with the territory, but i am a little surprised by the noise on these. however, i do really like putting one of these in the neck position, and then with the neck+bridge pickup you can get a nice clean tone while keeping some of that bridgey goodness. try it on your strat (7-way switching) for a different kind of tone! it doesnt hurt to have a set of these laying around if you're the type to be always working on guitars or need backups or filler spots to test things out. it might just be what you need! one of my favorite bridge pickups is a ceramic humbucker, and for the most part i believe "pickups are pickups" but i will say for middle and neck PUs i do prefer alnico and can tell a bit of a difference. it's not a terrible sound, just you know a cheap ceramic strat PU when you hear one

Great upgrade
Like other reviewers have said , they’re good pickups and worth what you pay and then some . I used these to replace the stock pickups on a squier affinity HSS (Indonesia). These popped right into a new SSS USA/mim pickguard and it fit perfectly into the affinity (it’s routed HSH).The neck pickup is what I’ll use the most - plenty clean and loud for jazz or blues. The bridge is my least favorite but that’s usually true no matter what pickups are installed - just my personal taste. It does give you that twangy strat tone if that’s your bag. The pickups blend well and give you lots of tonal options. I used the existing affinity wiring which is import quality , small pots and switch, but they work fine for now. All in all, a great upgrade over the stock pups which were all weak and muddy. I immediately could tell the difference and it makes me want to grab this affinity over my other rigs when I practice.

From one tone junky to another, buy them!
Ok, so let me qualify myself a little bit here. I've been a musician my entire life and a guitarist for the last 25 years. That being said I'm not made of money and I'm certainly not brand loyal. Like any tone junky, I buy what works and toss or sell what doesn't.These are awesome. Warm, bluesy, smooth and harmonic. Like a solid set of blues alnico 5's but I'd say with a bit more of the mids and a VERY nice, crisp bass. Full tone ready to be manipulated.I threw them in a 1984 MIJ Squier in the neck and mid alongside a boutique PAF and now I need to buy a better PAF because these are blowing it away.I paired them with CTS 250K pots, greasebucket and treble bleed tone circuits with .022uf as my tone caps fyi.The Amazon write-up is spot on. Wax potted, excellent fit and finish. Buy them, I'm buying more now because why not?!

Excellent pickup’s!
Very unique sounding pickups. When I say unique, I don’t mean weird or off putting. These pickups are warm and clear at the same time. Under heavy distortion, the bridge pickup puts out some beautiful leads and can handle Metal and anything in between. I modified my Yamaha pacifica to sss configuration, and with these pickups, its a winner. I’m not a alnico fan at all and prefer ceramic pickups. I wouldn’t call it a cross sound between alnico and ceramic but close. It’s actually hard to describe so your going to have to try these yourself. I’m extremely happy with these pickups and plan on keeping these in the pacifica for good. Just buy them you can’t go wrong. Your going to have a sound that is unique and stands out of the crowd.

Not as good as fender MIM pickups.
Eh. I love the stock ceramics on the MIM Strat and was hoping these might be close enough for use on a Warmoth build. Unfortunately, they are quite a bit more shrill and thin compared to the MIMs. I’m using a standard Strat set up with 250k pots and .47 cap. So...at $15 bucks I’ll just chalk it up to a failed experiment. Now to try some Wilkinson pickups.

Don’t waste your time.
Not worth the paper they’re wrapped in. First off there’s no clear markings of which pickup is the middle. So you may need to tweak your wiring should one end up out of phase. Second, there must have been tremendous effort put into mashing all 6 springs into one glob. Thankfully I have others. Then the final nail. The mount screws are not correct. Half will not catch the pickup base threads. So they’re not usable. And on top of that the screws are going to be too long for most routs. These will be going back to Amazon quickly.

Not your average Strat pickup
If you’re looking for Strat sounding pickups, these are not for you. If you want to sound unique, then try these. I was sucked in by the Scatter Wound description. The tone is hard to describe. The bridge sounds bright, but not ice picky bright. Smooth and even. The neck is not bassy, not vintage, clear and clean but with depth.I’ve been a Luthier for 21 years, worked on hundreds of Strats, but these are really different, finely. Put the tone on the guitar at half, and they produce really unique sounds. You can really hear the difference into a tube amp. My test amp is a Fender ‘65 Deluxe Reverb.

Work good for the what they are
These are not hot pickups at all and the quality is good. If you just need some cheap ceramic pickups for a cheap guitar these are a good choice. I wouldn't put them near a real strat.

Sound good, it’s a good upgrade but…
First, it doesn't say where the pickup should go... there are specs in the amazon description for each pickup but I couldn't find anything similar when I measured them... second, the screws are way too small. I finally took the screws from my old pickup and it worked. Hence the 3 stars. It's really not clear for the installation and not easy to find which one goes where. On the other hand, I was surprised by the power of the pickups. Much clearer than my old ones and double the power for volume.
