My youngest child is a "COVID baby". She was a toddler (under 2) when the lockdowns began and our state was super strict. We mostly stayed home (except for a few activities she had) for close to 3 years. Although she has an excellent vocabulary, she is still working on making *some* sounds well. (It doesn't help that her two front baby teeth fell out about a week apart lol.)She's not far off, but she does need a bit of work. Not enough to bother a language therapist, but enough to ensure that we do it (mainly just making "r" sounds a little less baby-ish). In steps these cards! WOW!!! These cards concentrate on the "problem" sounds and you work on those. Repeatedly. What a relief!They come in a fantastic hard case (hard cardboard) and are sectioned off into "s", "r", "L", "z", "s blend", "R" blend, and "L" blend cards (with dividers identifying the sections). These beautiful, glossy, oversized cards are printed on a medium-weight cardstock with a light laminate on them and a picture on the front of them. The back has a color that matches a corresponding section divider identifying what it is (ie, "s-initial" meaning s is the initial sound of the word) and the name of the word that the picture is. I do wish they'd used a slightly heavier-weight cardstock for the cards. Luckily though I will likely be handling them more and my kid probably won't handle them much. None of my kids have ever met a card they did not accidentally bend at some point! The first card in each section is just a card listing all of the cards within that section.In my opinion this is a fantastic set of cards for ESL (or even if you want to work on other languages!), speech therapy, or just working with a toddler identifying words you wish them to learn. I'd buy it for any of those reasons, let alone ALL of them! This is a custom deck of cards - customized with certain sounds in mind to work on those as your own kind of "speech therapist" at home. They're not a generic deck of cards going over the ABC's once again. To me the price reflects the information contained, so in that sense I believe it is a fair price for the specific knowledge that you are gaining access to.I REALLY liked the "Activity Guide" cards at the back that give you some ideas of how to use these cards. Just using them as flash cards alone would get boring after awhile for any kid. I appreciate them giving me some ideas how to mix it up some before we get to the bored stage!Overall this is a fantastic set of cards in my opinion. I really appreciate getting access to the specific sounds that are the issue in general for people with speech therapy needs. Even though I know my child needs to work on "r" sounds - I don't have the specific knowledge to know which words will help her to properly work on the mouth movement patterns that she needs to learn how to make. This set is much appreciated in that regard. Definitely highly recommend!

This is a nice set, well organized, and easy to use. It does feel a little pricey to me for what you get. Each section is labeled according to the sound that you are trying to practice. As well as being color coordinated. One side has a picture, the other side has the sound you are focusing on.

I love these cards they are big and easy to handle. The pictures are clear and well detailed. The cards are super easy sort thanks to the color coding. It does come with a card that gives you more ideas to have fun with these cards. I am using them to correct my five year old's speech sounds. I was able to identify what sounds she needed help with and which ones she had down pat. I also use these to help develope my three year olds speech and word vocabulary. Even my eight year old loves playing the games with these cards even though she doesn't need them. I would love to have the other cards from this brand. This set covers S, R, L, Z, S blends, R blends, and L blends. I wish it also covered the F sound and and the V or even some of the other blends or at least had another box that covers these sounds. As I said I would love to have the other card sets from this brand and feel they are well worth the money and amazing for those homeschooling or wanting to supplement after school. I use these for more than just speech work, it also great working with building vocabulary in toddlers and matching pictures with phonic sounds and other things as well.
