Slightly dissapointed
I like the sort it self because Yuu Watase is awesome, how ever when I opened this book from the package the first 13 pages are colored in! It looks like coloring pencil so this has gravely disappointed me, but this is what happens when buying off the internet some times. So might be buying books more from a book shop then online.!

AYASHI!!!!!!
oooooo! This is the first Mangs i've read without seening the Anime first! (Okay so Ayashi no Ceres/Ceres Celestial Ledgend in'snt Dubbed yet but still) BUY THE MANGA! BUY IT KNOW!I recommend this to all Shoujo lovers, but un-shoujo peeps don't be fooled this is no Sailormoon! Okay I love that too but this is not like 'Sailor' at all! This is full of Angst & Murder plot's but it is funny & romantic too! I LOVE AYASHI!!It follows Aya Mikage who is endowned with the power of the Celestial Maidens (Sorta like Angels only ...not) being a desendent of one called Ceres who likes to pop up in the bodies of Mikage 16 year old girls and exact her vengence on the Mikage clan for the stealing of her gossmer coat which allows her to return to Heaven (an early Mikage hid it and forced her to be his wife).Though Ceres herself dosen't show up until the end of this 'Takouban' (Manga collection) it is very good and we begin to see just how powerful Aya, the 'host' for Ceres in our Generation is and just how much her family want her dead (The only person in her family who dosen't really care about the whole Ceres thing is Aya's father...) we also meet Suzumi & Yuhi Aogiri the brother and sister in law who rescue Aya from her families clutches because Suzumi is also an Celestial Maiden though a lot less powerful.I really urge any Manga fan, Especailly shoujo fan's to read this this! It's great! BUY IT KNOW!

Beautiful!
I absolutely loved this manga, as I'm already a fan of Yuu Watase's work (such as Fushigi Yugi), the artwork is beautiful and the storyline magnificent! It contains all the genres you want: romance, comedy, action, fantasy, horror.Ceres Celestial Legend (or Ayashi no Ceres in Japan) is about a young girl, Aya Mikage, and her twin brother, Aki. On her 16th birthday she finds out she is a 'tennyo', a celestial maiden and that her family want to destroy her. From then on everything's about to go down hill (apart from meeting the handsome Toya).Over all I loved this manga and it lived up to my expectations after being a fan of Fushigi Yugi. Yuu Watase continues to enchant me with her wonderful stories!

Felflowne
If you've read Fushigi Yugi, you may be expecting the laugh a minute style of Watase to be forefront in this manga too, but Ceres is fully a member of the horror genre. This is not to say that it doesn't have its lighter moments, with Yuhi (the chopstick wielding chef) providing humour at many points. The story is captivating, showing that Yu Watase's inexhaustible storytelling imagination hasn't faded.Enough of the pointless I-sound-like-I'm-some-big-shot-book-critic waffle. The manga is great great GREAT! If you like manga AT ALL you will love this, with only a few exceptions.I just love Watase's ability to fuse a serious storyline with funny bits (ohh real technical) like Oda Kyu.Read it, you'll see.

Yu Watase does it again!
What can I say? She draws so well! I can't believe she even doubted herself (in her editorial column)This series is more serious than FY. The characters are looking great as always and I just love the way she draws the eyes! Such detail! There aren't any chapter titles, just subtle ones where you have character stats (date, height etc)Everything is going on as normal. Aya loves karaoke and her twin brother, Aki loves listening to Cd's. This is also the 1st time I heard a character bleaching her hair rather than it being natural! Anyway, it's Aya and Aki's 16th birthday and they have plans when suddenly, they have to cancel their plans to go to their grandfathers for their birthday. Once they get there, everything seems so strange. Forgotten relatives coming just for their birthday? They're all so serious looking and dressed in black, like a funeral. Unlike a funeral, they get a present. A mummified hand! Nice! But this mummified hand causes something to happen to Aya and Aki and they will never be the same again. It's got that mysterious love or as Watase puts it "forbidden love" element which I *heart*!The only bad thing I can say is that they don't translate/release Watase's work fast enough! (FY:7?!) I'm worried to buy the next one cos the one after that's not released yet and you know how fast I gobble her manga up!

Yu Watase's new series
This is about a girl called Aya who, on her 16th birthday, discovers she has 'celestial powers'. These powers manifest as a vengeful spirit called Ceres, who wants revenge on Aya's family for stealing her feathered robes, leaving her unable to return to heaven. Aya's family want to kill her before she can kill them, leaving her nowhere to go. Combined with beautiful drawings and an excellent storyline, this is a wonderful buy!
