Good function, low quality
When the opener works, it works well and is quiet. Within six months, one motor arm broke. After paying for return shipping, the arm was replaced under warranty. Now one year after installation, the control board malfunctioned and has to be replaced. Warranty will cover replacement, but it will take at least three months to ship. For the price, this is very poor quality. When it breaks down after warranty coverage expires, I will change for a different brand.

Mighty pain!!!
UPDATE!!So it's been 2 months since I purchased & installed this and I've spent more time fixing it than enjoying it! It gets stuck or opens halfway then closes back up, causing it to crash into our cars, not once but THREE times!! It opens correctly and closes correctly but then it opens back up and stays open. It's done all kinds of weird things. Sometimes it operates like it's supposed to but more often it doesn't. I've put two batteries and taken off the lock (that's a piece of junk as well) and still freaks out. I'm extremely disappointed I wasted a thousand dollars ($1,000) on this and maybe I would've been better off getting the other brand. Maybe not. Who knows but as for this, I'm not buying it again. You couldn't give it to me as gift, that's how much I loathe this thing. AND, I can't return it. Believe me, I wouldn't get a replacement because I'd rather get my money back and they ain't doing that so I'm just royally screwed. Thanks Amazon, glad I made Bezos richer, poor lonely guy. Very disappointed!!!Ok, the videos make installation a breeze but, not for me. It's fairly simple when you follow the instructions but hard for just one person, such as myself. I'm not particularly unhandy, I know how to use tools. Speaking of which, by the time I was finished, I had a bunch of tools laying around. It would be nice if they stuck to just one size but I was jumping around changing sockets more oft than not. So, after the installation and everything was working fine, I felt uneasy with this overwhelming feeling that someone would steal my thousand dollar investment. I looked at a lock that's particularly floating around the site and reviews saying how someone can just hit it hard with a hammer and BOOM! So, I found a perfect size lock (see pic) for the front part of the arm that's giving me more ease of mind and peace, for now, until I can find a perfect one for the rear part . After another round of tweaks, I was finally able to get the gate and lock (extra charge, of course!) to operate as intended. Overall, it took me a full 8 hrs to complete my installation, in the hot, south Texas summer!!! But, overall, I'm completely satisfied, for now. Good luck, hopefully it'll be easier for you!

Great replacement for my old Mighty Mule 500
Our old MM500 needed a new limit switch in the arm, and I decided to just replace the whole unit as it was very old. Might Mule said the 571 would be the suitable replacement. I was able to use my existing gate hardware which made my installation more simple. My existing gate opening wand, gate lock, and wired keypad were all easy to hook up to the control box. It was easy to program the closed limit and remotes. The whole system has been working great again. Their customer service has always been easy to reach by phone with minimal wait times. Their associate spent 45 minutes on the phone to properly diagnose the issue with my old unit, to make sure I knew exactly what was wrong.

Works great again
I'm updating this review on January 2021, one year from my original purchase. My rating of this item went from 5 stars, to 1 star, and now is at 4 stars. Originally, I was very pleased with the functioning of this gate opener. Nine months later, The opener stopped working. Mighty Mule instructed me in testing the circuit board and concluded that the circuit board was not operative and needed to be returned.I was sent a return authorization form. After mailing back the circuit board I heard nothing, and had to call them which entailed being on hold for a long time and getting transferred. But, Mighty Mule ended up being willing to send me a replacement board. The problem was that the board was not available and might not be for 4 months. After 2 months, and one more call to them, Mighty Mule bent over backwards to ensure that I received the parts I needed (& even some I didn't need.) So, while the gate opener is now working fine, and I love it, I'm subtracting one star for the very disorganized process of customer service, including: long hold times, Emails being sent which can't be responded to, and confusing forms with wrong contact information. But, because, in all likelihood, Covid affected their supply chain and they really tried to provide what I needed I am again a satisfied customer. Here's my original review written in February 2020.I installed this 6 weeks ago. This is a brand new model, so there are very few reviews. I wanted a heavy duty opener, because I've seen a number of inoperable light duty openers hanging uselessly on neighbor's gates. I've been very happy with it. Having electricity at my gate already, this was perfect because it isn't bundled with a solar panel, and has a small 12 volt battery supplied. (There is room in the control box to add a second small 12 volt battery.) Customer support is ok, but, I believe the support person is reading from a script. The support for the separately purchased remote controls was excellent. I bought two key panels (FM 137) and 2 extra remote buttons (FM 135). Because the remote buttons (FM 135) are older technology with switches, and Mighty Mule doesn't explain the details in their manuals, I needed guidance. The technical support guided me through programming the buttons so that the gate can't be opened by just anyone with a mighty mule remote. I will try to remember to revisit this review in a year and update if it is still working perfectly. But, at this point, it is 100% reliable.

Good quality, powerful opener
I've fitted three of these now and am completely satisfied. The oldest has been running without a problem for 6 years now. They are strong and of good quality. Installation instructions are excellent - no Google translate nonsense there! I've worked on other brands and I'm sure this is the best.

Box missing parts
Our box arrived and due to weather we didn't set it up until after the return window, so we were very sad when we discovered that the installation manual, receiver antenna and one of the two remotes that were supposed to be in the kit were all missing. The manual was available online as a PDF, and technical support from Mighty Mule was fantastic to get us through installation and set up. We are now struggling to find an antenna and would like to replace the missing 3-button remote that was not in the box. The kit itself works awesome, other than the missing parts.

Installation
It was not as easy to installed as advertised. Still not fully functional after 3 weeks

Replacement Unit
Easy to install as a replacement for a 15 year old Mighty Mule unit. Works well. Would prefer if the time to open and close was a bit faster but definitely better than the old unit. Great support every time I've called in.

Poor quality product
Used this for a dual 8 foot swinging gates, Weighting 100lbs each and gate openers will not function with any slight winds at all. Was very disappointed with this product.Does not work good at all when temperatures are -5c says that will work-15 not a chance if I could return this for a refund but didn’t get them installed until after refund window in time. I definitely do not recommend this product at all.
