Works great after volcanic sediment mortar mix applied to ceramic fiber. Let cure 48hrs for a healthy coating. Then fired up empty so the cure became final. Has held up solid within 3 month of use.

I’m glad I got this kit because now I know what not to buy. The firebrick is junk, the interior fabric falls apart easily (tear it out unless you want to breathe in who-knows-what), and the tongs are just okay. You’d be way better off making your own forge with refractory cement and a metal bucket, then grabbing a propane hose and gauge separately. This kit is cheaply made and overpriced for what you get. Two stars for the learning experience, but save your money and build your own.

Exactly as described works perfect worse the money

I didn’t realize how heavy and clunky it would be.. part of it was also chipped. I was gonna learn how to make jewelry but I think this kinda put me off of that idea..

Melted copper, tried lifting the smallest supplied crucible with the tongs in the kit and the crucible edge broke off and spilled 8 pounds of copper inside the furnace. Tipped the furnace over to get the bulk of the copper out. This resulted in the rivets on the lid handle melting, as they were made of aluminum. The package should include a lifting tong and better crucibles. The provided gloves had incomplete stitching which allowed some of the metal to burn my hand when the crucible dropped back into the furnace. Thank goodness it did not break at my feet. I am ordering some lifting tongs and pure graphite crucibles. I do not know if the insulation is compromised, but will find out on the next attempt. I purchased this product thinking it was well rated. I am now doubting the Amazon rating system.

It is functional but has some issues.It can ignite and heat up, but after about 15 minutes of use, the burner's section of the furnace starts making a strange noise, almost like it's not getting enough air, which causes the flame to sputter intermittently.

I got the product and decided I got other things I need to use my money on so I sent it back
