For the most part, Amazon Apple Products have always been genuine and worked the same as they do if purchased from the Apple Store, but depending on your type of Amazon account, you could save on the Shipping, Returning Items and on the Product itself in comparison to the Apple Store, which every little bit helps. I used to buy the previous Plug and Cord Type B, until Amazon stopped stocking it and Apple stopped producing them. Time will tell, if the Plug doesn’t fall apart and the outer part of the cord doesn’t split apart, I’ll be good. Part II - Received the Replacement Cord, Today and I plugged it in immediately and it started Charging ( Yay ! ). I will drop off the First Cord at Staples this week, so you will receive it timely, so there will be no reason to be fully charged. Thanks for the Good Product, Good Price and Fast Shipping. Just chalk this up to Manufacturer Defect.

Everyone should have at least one extra-long cord, if you don’t already. Whether you’re charging in bed, or connecting to an outlet that’s behind a couch or awkwardly placed in the living room, or when traveling and it’s unclear just how far that outlet’s gonna be from the bed…having the extra length is a savior, especially when you need it most

This is a super good product. My only down side is that it broke in under a month, I think it’s because of my clumsy hands but I intend on buying a new one to test it out.
