Rad retro watch!
This is a sweet watch, they got the likeness down perfect to the Gameboy and it's lightweight and comfortable, I thought it would feel heavy and bulky, but it weighs nothing. The size works great, any bigger and it would look ridiculous. Cool green light too. It's a little tough setting the time since the buttons are so small but I got it. Will be a great talking piece around friends. Price didn't break the bank either.

Cheap but cute watch, no frills
Remember when we were kids we'd get those junky LCD watches with a super hero on them? That's what this is, except the alarm is the first level of Super Mario Land. You can set the date but I can't figure out how to check it with going into time setting mode... Not a big deal, we all have cell phones so watches are more a fashion choice. It tells the time, date, lights up.Your money here is going for the novelty of how well they captured the look of the Gameboy. They nailed it.It's a well made cheap watch... I've never had much luck with watches, if I remember when it stops working or gets damage I will update this review but as a child of the 90s, I'm satisfied. This is cool, I'd like to see a Game gear watch next.

The Date isn't showing even if you can set it up.
I've had this for some time now but I just realized that I haven't reviewed it. It is an overall nice watch and even if I'm big, it can still accommodate my wrist. It really does look like a small gameboy that you can play in. Now my biggest concern and I don't know if they've fixed it already but the date will not show even if you can set it, which is weird if you think about it.Also I think this is caused by water damage or just a normal occurrence due to age but the LCD panel will corrode eventually. If you look closely at the bottom right part of my watch under the seconds, there is some corrosion happening with the display. For now it is not an issue, but the gameboy color watch we gave to our sister corroded really fast and is not showing anything anymore. It might've gotten wet, I dunno, but just be aware that it will most likely happen to your watches too.

Looks nice with one annoying problem
This watch is just awesome, the strap is pretty comfortable, it's a watch so everything you see is pretty straight forward. The only real complaints are that the backlight only lights up one side of the display, but it lights up enough of it to be visible in the dark so it's not a bad thing, it's just looks visually unbalanced. One of the most interesting things it has is also one of it's biggest problems, the alarm plays the world 3 theme from super mario bros 2 and it was pretty cool at first since most watches just have a beep so it made feel unique, until you have to switch it off. The watch has this weird glitch where once the alarm goes off you can't switch it off unless you remove the battery (which is not possible on your own unless you know your way around a watch) and when the alarm does work the way it should, then it either switches off and works fine or it switches off and resets everything. So in conclusion, the watch is very nice and it still gets 5 stars just for the look of it and would make a great gift for any Nintendo fan unless they like using the alarm, however it may just be mine so I can't clarify exactly.

A flawed attempt for a classic system
As someone with fond memories of this system when it launched I was pretty excited to represent two of my favorite things in one, watches and videogames. The design is simple, a scaled version of the Game Boy as it was complete with working directional pad and A & B buttons. Those are used for setting the alarm and date/time whereas the start/select buttons do nothing. It's very easy to change those options so that is a plus, I also found the strap to be very comfortable and appealing with the ridges as well to simulate the battery cover on the original unit.Visually it's a nice watch if you are into the nostalgia, but I found it to be a bit too thick and sticks out way too much. Maybe it's scaled down proportionally but this is a watch not an actual playable device and it would have benefited from having a slimmer profile. Being so thick makes it stand out more than it needs to that makes it more prone to possibly damaging it as the screen is very soft, seems like it's at risk for scratching or puncturing easily if not always being mindful. While I don't mind displaying a more geeky item like this, just wish it was a bit more subtle, something a slimmer design would have offered. The Casio Databank DBC-611 is a great example, same shape as a Gameboy just about yet still thin.Sadly I did not get to hear the Mario theme music when the alarm sounds, it displayed it was going off but no sound whatsoever, big let down there. For being such a basic no frills watch it's sad to see there are so many people having problems with these. To remove the battery you have to remove the straps and the screws underneath, yet there is a metal plate on the back that upon opening does nothing at all, its too small to remove the battery through plus you have to remove another metal plate that covers the battery as well. It's serves no function that I can see to even be there. The LCD display is decent enough, but is only viewable from certain angles otherwise it just disappears if it's angled, and there was some dust specs on the inside of the screen as well. Most offensive is the price at $30, it's just a nostalgia piece that could have used a few tweaks to really make it a must own. When my Casio F91W at only $10 blows this away in terms of durability, design and functionality there's no excuse here. While I really wanted to love it there is room for improvement that will probably never happen unfortunately. I might have stuck with it had the alarm actually worked but with all the issues it's not worth taking the risk until some quality control is taken into consideration. Hopefully they make a new revision in the future as I'd love to show my love for one of my favorite systems growing up, it certainly deserves better.
