I ordered these window shades as a potentially more convenient option than my reflectix shades. What I like about these window shades is they pack up small and are easily installed. My car (Subaru Outback) does have metal around the front and back doors, making installation easy. I tucked the excess width into the window and this made for a relatively tight fit to the window. Otherwise the lower part of shade would hang a little bit away from the window. Not sure if that configuration would decrease the performance of the shades, but I liked them tight to the window.The window shades did not quite fit the dimensions of my windows front-to-back wise, but I expect they would fit for compact cars. This lack of fit did not bother me much as all but an inch of the window was covered. The shades were very thin, and getting up close to the window, I could see into the car. They did appear to keep the majority of light from entering the car, though. The real test will be when I return to the southwest and leave the car parked in the sun.Overall I like these shades for their ease of installation and compact size when not in use. I normally do not use the side door shades when I park in a parking lot due to the inconvenience. However, these shades would allow me to quickly deploy them. In addition to deflecting the sun, they will also provide a deterrent to someone looking in the car when I am car camping. I like the little bit of security these shades will provide for me.

I was looking for something that would block out sunlight, but also allow me to see outside, so that I could keep them up in the backseats when I have company.When I went to put these in my car, the first thing I noticed was how strong the magnets actually are. I've looked at the reviews of other similar products that are magnetic, and a lot of comments complain about the weak magnets, well not with this one. The magnets on these are very strong and high quality.The next thing I noticed was how much sunlight they block, while still allowing me to see out the windows. On top of that, the reflective outer material makes it near impossible to see inside, so you get an added layer of privacy as well.If there's one thing I have to complain about, that would be the size, it fits fairly well in my sedan, and seems like it would fit even better in an SUV, but since I have a sedan, it is slightly too big. I would love to see them come out with a sedan specific size that fits the windows of smaller cars better. As of now, the shades get somewhat smashed in my door when I close it, it's only a small area, but still something that could be improved on.Overall, it's definitely worth the purchase, and I would definitely recommend this to someone who is either looking for privacy, or just some more shade for the sun.

I always go out to my car when I have a break at work, and where I park, the sun beats down on the passenger side, making it very hot. I've tried a couple of other window shades that were of pretty bad quality, inconvenient, ugly, or just didn't work. These window covers are great.For a universal size, they fit my RAV4 really well. They are very nice quality and a decent thickness, so they should be pretty durable. They have small but strong magnets that stick to the door frame, so they're easy to install or take down. The magnets run down the side as well, so they hold on very securely; however, because they're a universal size, the shades on my front windows are about an inch shy in width, but they still work well. Also, because they are installed on the door frame instead of the window itself, your doors and windows still operate as they normally would, and the magnets down the side keep them from getting caught in your doors or windows.They are a thick cloth mesh that is black on one side and has a silvery reflective backside. The black side is easier to see through than the reflective side, so if they're installed with the reflective side facing out, they will give you a little privacy as well as keep your car cooler and protected from sun damage. Additionally, with the black side facing inward, you can still see out for driving; however, I have no idea what any laws might be regarding this.They definitely keep my car cooler while still letting filtered light in, but the light that does come in doesn't heat up my passenger seat like it did without the shades.Currently, they're $13.99 for the back seat set, but the better value is $21.99 for the front and back set.

Purchased for our backseat windows to add additional shade for the kids. Two in a pack. They work great with the magnets.

Tested fit only so far. Will update once I drive to AZ next weekend. Purchased to block sun for dogs when driving & crating at performance dog sports. Does not fit front & side windows of 2017 Toyota 4Runner. Too large for side windows & too small for front windows. Will fold extra fabric & make side windows fit. Those are most important during driving. Think I can block most of sun on myself when driving. They are lightweight & able to fold small. Can slide magnets around for best position.Interested to see how they work & how well I can see out my window.

The magnets are strong, nice sun protection, easy to use

I love this design of shades. The magnets are strong and will keep the shade in place. Even after repeatedly opening and closing the doors.The magnets have individual pouches they are sewn into, but have room to slide around within if you need them to. That was a big problem with a previous brand I tried. The edges were one big area with no separation. I had to keep moving them to get them evenly spaced.The magnets do like to stick to each other when setting up and putting them away. It's not difficult to get them apart just a mild inconvenience. Unavoidable with this type of shade so it's not a negative in any way.You can still see through these when installed. Both into and out of the car. Kind of hard to tell in my picture due to the reflection. Just don't expect 100% privacy.Great product. I'd recommend for sure.
