Works great
Pretty cut and dry, plug it in, turn it on and away it goes, heater warms up immediately, less than thirty seconds and the plate is hot to the touch. Remote is very simplistic, not much to say about that. Works great, wish I had this six months ago.

warm coop!
i am so happy to have this! i have 6 week old chicks and am worried about them staying warm over night. we did down into the high 60s now that it's october and i just wanted to have something to give them an extra boost of heat if needed. this is perfect because i just plug it in and it works! i love the style too because if the chicks are warm they can move away but if it's cold they can gather around. it;s also better than those killer heat lamps that can burn up your coop, your chicks and their house! PERFECT!!!

warm, not hot
The cable is long enough but exposed to the weather, pecking, or even some chewing. Mounts the feet is relatively easy. It also comes with some screws and sockets for wall-mounting, though the hanging brackets were overtightened into the frame. After plugging in and turning on the switch, it took quite a long while to get warm. I checked back after a day and it is still warm, but never too hot to touch. This allays any fears of starting a fire and as long as the space is relatively small and enclosed, it should at least keep it warmer than the outside. After playing with different locations, ours seems best to put low near the middle of the coup.

Nice radiant heater. Can get very hot.
Nice heater. I connected it and turned it to high. Very hot to the touch, but not where I believe it could be dangerous.I think it would also be a good heater to have under your desk in a cool office........Looks well made and is heavier than I imagined.Couple mounting options with a grounded molded plug for easy installation and the ability to easily move to another area.I would order again.

Happy hens…
I had to get this reviewed quickly as the weather dictates is usage and the hens are soooo happy with the comfort it brought them last night. Our weather has taken a turn and this was perfect timing. It’s so easy to use and comes with a remote, users manual and takes seconds to heat up. Very logical and works fantastic. This is sooo welcomed and appreciated. Great price point. Would reccommend

Keeps Ducks Warm
I use this to heat and keep my ducks warm. They love it when it gets really cold in the winter. I used to use ceramic heat bulbs but it took way more electricity and the heat was spread over a smaller area. Now when it's cold the Ducks just sleep in front of this in their house. It was easy to mount and use. The only thing I don't like is that is won't reset back to what it was doing after it loses power. You have to manually turn it on and set temp.I would get it again but would like to see and auto restart feature where it goes back to the temp you had it set on.

Radiant heat for the coop
I like the controls at the top where you can see what the temperature is set at. Having a remote control is nice, but I don't need it because I go inside the coop at least twice a day and can easily reach the onboard control panel. The cord is about 5 feet in length, which is long enough to reach our outlet. The highest temp it can be set to is 191 degrees, which is fine for inside the coop. It's not like a heater with a fan so I didn't get it expecting it to heat the whole coop. But it puts off enough radiant heat that hens can scoot close to it to warm up if needed. The packaging said it's 200 Watts. I like that the feet for the freestanding mode have holes so you can screw the unit into place and worry less about it getting knocked over. It has an automatic power-off feature if it were to fall over, but that would also mean there's no heat so securing the feet makes sense. I compensated for the lack of a thermostat by using a outlet timer. Since the chickens are outside during the day, I set it to only turn on during evening hours when everyone's inside.
