Great crib for the price
We just received our crib yesterday. I was very hesitant to purchase a crib on-line, site unseen, with no store to take it back to.So here goes:1) Worry one, the crib would show up damaged. It showed up with no major parts damage. It is packaged in a box inside a box separated by a 1/2 inch layer of Styrofoam. I say "no major damage" because some of the parts probably rubbed together in shipping and the white paint in a few small areas was worn down to the wood. Nothing a 2 minute touch up job couldn't take care of, and if you are not as anal retentive as I am it probably wouldn't even bother you not to touch it up.2) Worry two, the crib would not be solid constructionThe crib is solid wood construction, the only part that isn't real wood is the base under the mattress. It is some form of compressed composite. We purchased a solid wood crib in 2005 from Baby Depot for $400, there are subtle differences in the construction, but this crib seems as solid as the one from Baby Depot does. The differences are: The Stork Craft crib uses a allen screw with a cylinder lock bolt system for assembly, while my other crib has pressed in fitting with allen screws so the assembly is easier. Secondly, my original crib has a steel frame with support springs (think bed support for a pull out couch) to support the mattress, while the Stork Craft uses a piece of compressed fiber board made firm with two 1 by 1 pine boards. So I think this is the only weak point in the construction, but if my kid doesn't turn out to be Jaba-the-Hut or a Sumo wrestler it shouldn't be a problem. Additionally, this crib was $200 less than the other one, so I think the slightly weaker support is not a bad concession.Final thoughts:1) The directions aren't great, but it isn't hard to assemble. If you can point to the correct end of a screw driver you should have any problem. It assembles in about 30 minutes.2) Some of the screw holes were not precisely drilled in the correct places, but if you put the screws in loose at first, then tighten the whole crib together you shouldn't have a problem.3) If fits a standard crib mattress size.Hope this helps you make your decision. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that I wasn't completely happy with the mattress support as discussed above.

Great Crib - Very sturdy and stylish
I had originally registered for a Graco crib in a black finish through Wal-mart. However, it went out of stock in the black color and then I found on the Graco website, it was discontinued. That was a bummer. I really wanted a black crib and with a straight (non-curved) back because of the desired room arrangement and trying to fit it under a window. I was really pleased with this price and the overall look on the website. I ordered it and Amazon said it'd be here on the 17th and voila! on the 12th it was sitting on my front porch. That's a super added bonus to my happiness. It does weigh about 80lbs (or so it says on this website, which I do believe) so at 6 months pregnant I had to have my parents come by my house to help get it in the door. We just assembled the crib and am really pleased. I came with every piece as promised. From being packaged and shipped from WA to TX in the hottest summer on record here, it did seem to have a small issue of the plastic and cardboard wanting to stick to some of the pieces. This was nothing that a warm washcloth couldn't fix. The directions were a bit confusing at first, mostly because we should have separated all the pieces into groups and known how long some screws were compared to others. It provides written and picture references, so even my mom and I could do it! Now that it's all together, it looks fantastic! The black is a true black color and looks very nice. It's very sturdy and more sturdy than some cribs I checked out at department stores. Some felt like you could move the front railing to easily but this is solid! It sits pretty low to the ground that even my 3 dachshunds can't fit underneath....another plus. :)I highly recommend. If it weren't for confusing directions and the mild cleaning we had to do to get the cardboard marks off, I'd give it 5 stars.

Elegant, Affordable and Well Crafted
I got this crib on sale (~$130) in the Espresso color to match an old dresser set I already had for my baby's room. This crib is a gorgeous color; very rich chocolate, but not black-brown like many "espresso" colors tend to be. I had no problems with the delivery and all pieces were in good shape upon arrival; do be careful when putting together this crib as with all wood, it can scratch easily. That said, we had no issues with off-gassing and while it did take some time (and 2 people for sure!) to put together, in the end, it's a well crafted piece of furniture (very sturdy / stable and elegant in appearance) that I'm extremely pleased will grow with my baby into the toddler years and hopefully beyond. The crib pieces do come with the toddler rail, but not the full bed conversion rails. I've been told the bed rail can be purchased as a generic bed frame (metal) and you can attach the head and footboard later (I was not successful in finding the conversion kit for the full bed via Stork Craft). My husband and I are both taller and the highest setting on the crib makes for very comfortable angles to place baby in and to take baby out. All-in-all, I highly recommend this purchase; we couldn't be happier with this crib!

Perfect for budget, but not the highest quality
This crib is beautiful for a baby girl! Although, I do not recommend shipping as prime,I believe because I had it delivered Prime, it was rushed and thrown around. The package arrived looking like it had been thru a war, thru a few tears you could even see the crib wood. Because of this several places on the crib were gashed.Fortunately, when we got it put together you cannot see many of the gashes in the wood, but still we were disappointed to know they would treat it this way during shipment. The crib itself: not the most sturdy on the market, but a good value for the price of you're on a budget. Plan on 2 people putting this together unless you are super handy yourself. My husband and I are not very handy and this took us about 2 hours of confusion and biting our tounges so we wouldnt fight over it. Lol.All in all: beautiful, not sure if it's real wood, but the white finish is beautiful. Perfect for a little girl if you're on a budget.
